Hysteroscopy

Hello been booked in for a Hysteroscopy next week under general but my mum had this done while just being sedative anyone else had the sedative as I am petrified of being put under never been put under before

    Hi - I had a vaginal hysterectomy under a general anaesthetic and I can honestly say it was a doddle!  One minute is was being put under and the next I was awake thinking that I was still waiting to go down for the op!!  I had no pain afterwards and needed minimal pain relief (paracetamol and iuprofen) the following couple of days.  Was going for walks from about day 4 and running again from week 6.  I would have been more scared to have been kept awake with just a local anaesthetic I think.  Don't worry if you have to have a general - it's very safe now compared with years ago.

      I had pain killers every 4 hrs for the first few weeks and a injection at nite in hospital only pain killers at home
