    Hallo Wendy

Im sorry about your health problems.😟 it sounds as though you going through a rough patch but it will look up.  Zopiclone tablets really are a nightmare .... addictive and don't really work after two weeks. Do you have medicine to manage the pain as well as the sleeping medicine?  Is not your Doctor helping you overcome your illness?  I wouldn't order medicines online.  I did and wish I had never done so as I wouldn't be writing on this forum.  Zopiclone is full time fear ... it is a demon like alcohol.  Get professional help and ask for CBT.  You will be healthier and happier as a result.  Take care and I wish you very well. 😃xx.

Hi  Sarah yes I have been on a few , but they just don't seem to work , I have a ear. Problem called hyperacusis , it means that I hear things a lot louder that other people , & my ears alway feel blocked & then I got non Hodgkin's lymphoma , which is all on going , I have tryed CBT , it helped for a while , and I know that it is just me who can over this but sometimes it feels like it is never ending , may be part of all this is the Zopiclone , they put me on it in hospital two & a half years ago now

Hi Wendy I am sorry... one of the side effects of zopiclone is depression ... I used to think quite wrongly that zopiclone would lift me if I slept properly.  It does do that for a short while only to let you down again and hook you in, lower your immunity, depressive mood, decrease energy levels, memory loss, accident prone.  It's all rotten stuff that Zopiclone dishes one up.  I'm sure your doctor will taper you off this medicine and prescribe a better and safer medicine.  Take care xx🌸

Thank you I did not know all the things that you said , I am going to see my doctor next week , so the low energy is not just because I am not sleeping , I was taking rispearton as well but they took me of that , it sounds like you are doing well coming of Zopicion , let me know how you go on ? Do you feel a lot better for it ? Did you have any withdrawal affects ? I have not taken then for a day because I have run out , And I have felt terrible ,good luck x x x x

Hallo Wendy ... yes I do feel so much better now.  I tried at first to come off it last November and had the most awful and frightening panic attacks. I felt terrible.  I was frightened and scared.  It was all delusional behaviour I think. So I went back on them until June of this year and I took it really slowly. 1/2 for 3 weeks ... then a 1/4 for about 5-6 weeks and I've juststarted going down to an 1/8 .... all with a pill cutter.  Each time, even though it's a small amount I've dropped, I've noticed slight irritability, sweating, cold symptoms, and a slight tendency to want to cry.  It's subtle but as I understand they are withdrawal effects I am comfortable with that knowledge that this monster is leaving my system although it's screaming not to!!  You can do it too!🌺x

Hi Tenthirty , do you think that this not sleeping for all of us is some thing that we have done to are selfs , these pills just mess with your mind , I start thinking about not sleeping long before I go to bed , I just want to break free from this trap & start living again  ! Yes I am sure the will be a few side affects , I stopped take rispearton a week & a half ago , was taking them for two years the has been a few side affects from that , did you say you have been on it for eight years ? If you don't mind me asking why was it prescribed to you , have you been able to cope in the day time , I have read about people taking zopiclone in the day time as well , I am on a much higher dose than you I take 2x 7.50

The only person who can help you is yourself.,   Have you explained all this to your GP:?       If not, why not?    If you start buying them and taking more you are only digging yourself into more trouble, as you well know.  I have been taking 2x7.5mg for many years (I am in my 80;s).  There are still times when i can;t sleep, so I get up and read a book or watch the telly..

Hallo Sarah. I've been on Zopiclone for 8 years and at last I'm stopping! I never thought I would but am now down to 1/8 th tablet over 3 months.  I used to take one 7.5 moms a night.  I do take 10 mgms of Amytriptyline for back pain and 5 mgms of Melatonin.😴 I'm doing ok with that so far.  I do wake up twice at night ... don't look at clock and just have Dr Bachs Rescue Remedy with some water and hit the pillow again!  I am really glad that I'm stopping and am getting hold of my life again before I sleep it away.  You can do it really you can! 😃

Hi my doctor has stopped my zopiclone day 1 and replaced with valium there is evidence to suggest it works as valium can go down to 2 mg tablets it's called the ashton method I will update to see how it goes.

Hi there Sarah ... yes I've read about the Ashton Method with a Valium taper.  I went to see a doctor privately and suggested this method but  he was reluctant to prescribe the Valium to me ... so I came away and decided to wean them myself of the Zopiclone slowly.  I had thought of going to a Sleep Clinic but they are very expensive. I am fearful of the night that I don't take anything and how I will sleep, but I hope to be really in control then and will cope & hopefully I will sleep much much better.  Look forward to hearing how you get on with the Ashton plan. 🌷x

I also think you will be fine if you've come this far you have done really well.its mad isn't it what 1 little tablet can do

Hi Sarah.  Yes it's a monster Zopiclone.  I use a pill cutter to chop the tablet. It's difficult to do when you get down to an 1/8, but I do somehow.  When I get down to 1/16 I will have to crush an 1/8 tablet in some juice and take half of it I think and refrigerate the rest for the following night. It's incredible that a medicine should have such a hold on one.  It's similar to an alcohol dependence I feel... but we're on the right track!! Good Luck and Thank You!😀xx

Hi Sarah ! Will you get any side affects coming of it like that ? Is Valium a stronger drug ? I will be interested to hear how it goes ?
