I amazed

Hi, I bought a gel that I saw advertised on TV. It was advertised as relief for tired, sore, heavy and aching legs. It is called Loiton and its herbal. It's supposed to cool and sooth, take away pain, swelling and redness.

Well, it does all that. But the most amazing thing it does is, it has almost disappeared my scar!

Its not got anything about scars on the box. But my scar is now flat and smooth and pale.

I put it on after exercising and it's like icing without the ice. The cool feel doesn't last as long as ice, but it's nice.

I have to admit i use the lioton (as required) the relief is worth it

Woke up very stiff this morning after yesterday's hydrotherapy.   couldn't put my leg to the floor for a moment. No pain though. Just moving it gently now and massaging in some gel.

Nice to wake up to you all smile

    • Posted

I will use it before I go to bed tonight and hopefully get a pain free night for a change

although the I've only used it once today  and it was instant relief

      Hey Jean,

Its been 2 days! Did you get such a good night that you are still sleeping? Lol

Its 38 degrees here today, one of those days when it's so still outside.

The goldfish in my pond have had babies, lots of them!

My knee is doing well, even though it could be a bit looser for my liking.

      Hi Caz

      38 degrees I think it's 6 here lol

i had a bad night last night after a very busy day yesterday but it was my own fault for trying to be bionic woman ...lol

i bet it's lovely to see all the baby fish in your pond. I find watching the fish so relaxing

oh well I'll get wrapped up in my Winter woollies while you Melt in the heat...lol

and I'm glad your knee is doing well  this could be your turning point and long  may it stay that way

i'll do my exercises then use my Lioton Gel before I get on with my day.

Hi Jean I have got my limiting received today. I have put it on twice and haven't seen a difference yet. The one I have is for tired legs and as you say the directions are in a different language. I googled too, let me know how it is for you after a few days of using it. Thanks

      Not limiting liotin, sorry

      Hi

i've been using it for a few days now and I find it does relax the muscles in my TKR  leg

I always use it before bed and after exercise

I hope it works for you

      let me know

      Jean

I will try it tonight. You never know. I could make 4 hours sleep instead of 3. I might try my leg out of the bed as well, I can't bear duvet on it.
    • Posted

I now get 3 hours instead of 2 and as for your leg out of bed ...I've done that before

i think that will be my Xmas wish ...a full nights sleep

Hi how are going with the Lioton ?

      Is it still helping?

I was   on my feet for three hours on saturday at a Christmas carnival.

Boy did i  pay for that on Sunday and Monday!

I felt likei  had regressed 2 weeks !

But todayi  massaged in some Lioton & went for a walk to the local shops.

Not much fun going down all the stairs to get out. -  or the hill down to the shops. But i treated myself to a rest and a coffe.  And the walk back felt better

concentrating on heel and toe. Still using the cane  so i dontf all over lol

      Hi

you are doing so well no way could I have stood for 3 hours.

. I too have loads of steps and a big hill to cope with.

going up the hill isn't as bad as coming down it though.

the Liotol definitely helps and like you I use it before I go out and before I go to sleep.

i slept for 4 hours straight through last night and that is the best ever since the Op

      Hi Jean and suzidownunder,

Yesterday I saw another doctor, mine is on her honeymoon. He changed my painkillers to Panadol Osteo twice daily and Panadeine Forte at night.

The Panadol Osteo seems to be knocking me around a bit. I have diarrhoea and feel sick about 20 mins after taking it.

Which painkillers are you guys on?

I also massage Lioton on my knee before I sleep. I would have had a lovely nights sleep if my sister hadn't called me to say Merry Christmas at 1.30am. After all these years she still doesn't get it. I'm 8 hours ahead of UK.

      Hi Caz

my only painkillers are co-codamol 30/500mg and as I've said before that my GP says I shouldn't be needing painkillers now.

I'll lend him my knee for a week and see if he copes without medication...lol

i've been awake since 5am it's now 6-40am I'm just having my first cup of tea as I know it's the end of my sleep until tonight.

I'm also dreading the fact that I have to do a bit of last minute shopping later I know I'll suffer later ...but .... I'll be brave biggrin

Hi Caz and Jean. I'm sitting here icing and dreading the night as usual.

I'm just on 2x paracetamol plus 2x ibuprofen as needed.

They work good enough - take the edge off.

I was on panaforte but they made me feel awful. Headache depressed etc. I cried /slept for two days on those so stopped taking them.

By the time i came back up the hill today it was feeling easier.

I'm concentrating in walking 'properly -  - heel toe...

Does it kill your backs ladies cos it does mine!

      Hiya Gals,

Im just off to the shops to buy my grandson a pair of trainers. He picked them out, I expect I could buy a small car for the same money, but it's his birthday on New Years Day so it's combined!

Wish me luck, my knee is clicking today.

Oh yes it kills my back ...I have an ongoing back problem anyway and this damned Op has caused me to have sciatica...just another problem to cope with

I do heel to toe when I remember....I'm concentrating on going up and downstairs properly instead of one step at a time.

the trouble is I find myself swinging the bad leg ..not a pretty sight for anyone walking behind me...use your imagination to picture the scene ...lol

it's definitely a good job I can laugh at myself or I'm sure I'd just stand and cry

There is a new pair of Air Jordans hitting the stores last weekend and the lines were forming several days in advance with people camping out, fights breaking out and trash piled up all for a $225 USD shoe. Of course these were people on welfare who don't work as they are the only ones with time on their hands to be able to do this sort of thing.

Haha I'm the same. It's so much harder than we thought isn't it!

I'm not too bad going up stairs. I use the cane and haul myself up with the banister. I'll have arms like a lumberjack after this!

But going down i do the hip raising bit and my knee twinges and clicks which puts me off.

We have 6 runs of stairs to get down before i can make a bolt (slowly) for the front door and freedom  - then more steps to the street!

You're brave going shopping! I've made the local shops but couldn't face a mall!

Good luck! Hope you don't have to walk about too much smile

Hes a great guy and has helped me over this operation. He didn't ask, we asked him. We brought him up, from a baby after my daughter took off.he will be 20 this birthday.

Much the same though isn't it! Doesn't matter where you live it's uphill one way. Then there's the wind which is in your face as you go out and still in your face when you turn round to go home!! But it is very pretty. My husband had an interview at Sheffield hospital and we thought we could enjoy living there.

The "her" refers to my daughter btw - blame pred brain...

Hi jean   Did you use the girl last night? I am still waiting for something to improve. I was awake for hours last night, 2 hours sleep in all. I used co codamol which I don't think is any good at sll. I ended up taking oxycodone and eventually slept. This has got to be the worse operation ever.  I am so tired today. I am not looking forward to Christmas, are any of us???

I bet he truly deserves them and you are happy do your part. There are so many good, high quality, young people out there that don't get their day in the sun because the media is so busy glamorizing the thugs and trying to make them saints. This country has been in such a turmoil over such things that we don't get a moments peace. Christmas should be such a time of joy and hope but this year its been a season of killing, beating, stealing and unpleasentries of man toward man its making it difficult to see the beauty.of the season. I guess I should be very happy. I never wanted much in life and I've succeded in hitting my goal. All in all, I'm pretty content with life and very happy I don't have to relive it.

      Hello again

i too had a terrible night last night ..I do find the gel soothing though but I guess it's like everything else what works on one person doesn't always work on others

and you're right about the co-codamol doing nothing  but that's all my GP would give me I guess that anything else must make to big a dent in their budget

it's the first operation I've had in my life and hopefully the last

it's far more traumatic than I expected ...but ...hopefully next xmas we will be saying ....I couldn't have done that last year...

I'm SO with you OFG! I'm so sick of the media's obsession with reporting on all the negative stuff, 24/7, that I can't even watch the news anymore. Maybe I'm like an ostrich with its head in the sand, but I'd rather go about my life trying to be happy & compassionate with those around me in my own little world, then being bombarded everyday about the "thugs" who are the LAST people to deserve all the attention.

Yikes, don't get me on my soap box, ha. Really, I think you have to be in denial sometimes to keep your sanity. My daughter used to be in news, as a reporter & anchor, until she could not stomach it anymore. She won't even watch the local news anymore.

It has been a lot of work preparing for Christmas, shopping, wrapping, getting the house in order, plus today I have to go to the grocery store for all the food for Christmas Day, as the family will be here. On top of that we've had to go downtown L.A. for several dr apps for my husband, as he is having a procedure for his heart next month, so Christmas Day I plan to just "chill out", gaze at my family and be thankful for the good things in my life.

Like you, never wanting much in life, but taking joy in the simple things and appreciating what you do have. I know that's not easy for a lot of people though, who have problems that one can't even fathom how they get through life, so it just makes me more thankful for what I have.

Oh my! How did I ever get on this tangent?? I guess I'm getting built up stress over the past month off my chest! I've also been laid up for a week with stomach problems ( which seem to be subsiding) but have not been able to exercise at all, and boy do I stiffen up when I don't keep those joints moving!!!

Anyway, I hope you and everyone have a lovely Christmas. It will be over in a flash, then back to our busy, crazy lives again, ha

Betty 22 weeks today ( I think! You know, I'm actually starting to lose tract. I'll have to ask Jennifer 😀

So with you there Betty - this last week has been horrendous hasn't it?

But on Facebook today a paramedic mate had posted an article from the media ripping up a paramedic who had parked their ambulance on a hatched yellow lines area at McD's. I imagine to deal with a patient and they'd left it there as it is a) big and b) it isn't helpful if they can't open the doors. Anyway this woman ripped them up as she assumed they'd stopped by for food.

Further down the FB page was a report about a paramedic who is seriously ill in hospital after being attacked by a patient he was attending.

Says it all really I think.

But I think you are right - when we have been ill there does come a point where you just want to have a shout about injustice and stupidity and nastiness.

      Happy Christmas everyone!

      Hi Jean,

Like you I did most of my Christmas shopping online! How convenient is that? Gone are the days of going to the dreaded malls, trying to find a parking space & fighting the crowds and expose yourself to all the flu bugs going around 😀. Plus all the grocery stores have multitudes of gift cards for restaurants, movie theaters, department stores & even gas stations, so a lot of people on my Christmas list are getting gift cards 😀

I just wanted to say that I googled Yorkshire and Sheffeild to see where you lived ( don't worry, I'm not a stalker, ha) I'm just curious that way. I love seeing where people live, ha, but anyway it looks so lovely there. On my bucket list I want to visit the UK and see your beautiful country.

I do hope you can get your sciatica pain under control Jean because I feel that is what is hampering your healing process in your knee. What do the doctors say?

      Take care Jean!

I must have only had 2 hours  last night and today I've been fit for nothing

i still have some bits of last minute shopping and there's only tomorrow left to do it.

i think the only thing that will give me a good nights sleep is if I get hit on the head with a brick ...lol

and as for the Xmas tree mine is resting in the loft where it will stay this year ....and maybe next year and the year after that ...lol
