Hi Kim, you're definitely not alone but i know how isolating it can be : ( I'm 35 and was told this week that after months of ongoing bloods and terrible symtoms i am definitely in early menopause and have been started on HRT. I'm currently feeling so awful so am crossing everything that the tablets work and some girl power on here will help!

The tiredness is almost too much to handle, does anyone have any secret tips to help with that? I've worked really hard to combat the insomnia but the daytime exhaustion is another level.

Also did anyone go through it this early, also how long did it take for the HRT to settle?

I feel like I've only just recovered from 9 months of Hyperemesis with my two year old....me and hormones iust aren't friends!

So happy i found this thread and I'm hoping that all of my recent issues are hormone related. I turned 50 in October and it's all been downhill from there. I've had most of the symptoms discussed in this thread, but my most distressing issue is an inability to eat solid food without feeling like death. I feel like I have to swallow extra hard to get food to move all the way down my esophagus. And if I eat over a certain amount, say about a cup of food, I get a cold sensation spreading through my chest that is followed by a panic like wave and then I feel like I'm dreaming or disconnected from reality for a few seconds at a time. It comes in waves and sometimes I have to lie down until my food digests. These attacks aren't always food-related, but I've definitely narrowed it down as a trigger. I've recently made 2 trips to the ER about it and so far everything is negative. I get an irregular heartbeat too when it happens but it's is a benign arrhythmia.

this is so me!! i started in 2015 With the palpitations, anxiety, and weird chest aches.. had a stress test, echo, and wore a Holter monitor for 30 days. all tests came back normal. i was/do have pvc's all day. Lots of them. But nothing to worry about. During this time i also started having panic attacks and anxiety. i learned to live with all of this. fast forward to october 2019 hot flashes start going off, anxiety through the roof, and palps cranked up. im right back where i was in 2015! panic attacks included! i feel like im dying! i just know the drs have missed heart disease and im going to have a heart attack. i just dont feel good anymore everyday its a headache or my palps or i have no energy. i obsessively take my pulse. I never knew any of this was a thing Mothers apparently suffered in silence. im glad im not alone, but wish it wasnt a thing

      @laura40835 hi .

your post has really stood out to me so had to reply .I could literally mirror everything you are saying here.except for the hot flushes.

Ive had ectopics 24/7 for about 5 years now .

I have had Ecgs and ultra sound etc all pretty normal

I was told i was peri at 42 six years ago .at the same time i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.I have never believed either dismissive diagnosis and have long suspected a thyroid issue but since the docs only ever test certain levels which are not the full picture at all i've just left it .However,i have paid for a private test and had my results a few days ago and lo and behold i have tested positive for antibodies which prove i actually have Hashimotos which is an autoimmune condition that is slowly killing my thyroid.I suspect i have had this for many many years undetected. There is zero doubt in my mind this is what has been the cause of my ectopics after years of obsessing constant checking etc.I am not of course trying to diagnose anyone at all more offering some food for thought ..we are all individuals after all , i just thought i would share my experience with you as it is very similar and not everything can be or should be always down to peri meno or meno until all other avenues have been ruled out which they may have already been in your case ..good luck and hope you find some relief from your worries soon .x

im glad you replied! i briefly glanced at an article about Hashimotos just the other day ill give it another look thank you! and i hope you feel better!

Hey πŸ˜ƒ Its got to be worth a bit of looking into hasn't it.Ive always known but just been constantly dismissed, and its only because i can afford it now that i've done the test myself.I have always doubted my peri diagnosis too.in 6 years i've never had a hot flush and i believe my periods have been irregular because of the hashimotos.Again i'm not at all trying to say that is what's going on with you at all.Good luck keep me posted!

i feel as if I'm going mad tbh! My health anxiety is out of control and I feel very little joy in anything. I get palpitations and missed beats so think I am going to collapse then get even more anxious. I just want to feel calm and content again. I'm 52 now - every day I just wonder how long this will go on for. Finding this thread has given me some comfort

You are going to be okay. Try to find something that you enjoy to do. Make an appointment with the DR. get yourself checked out if everything is okay, try to relax tell yourself over and over I am okay, i am okay.

You are not alone, I feel exactly like you, especially with all my stomach issues. Try to find something that you enjoy doing. Praying and talking to GOD helps me. We all are going through such terrible issues right now, but you are not alone. I've had many tests done, but I have given my anxieties and depression to Jesus, and when I start feeling anxiety. I saw Jesus in you I trust, help me get through this. I hope you find something that can help you, even posting on here helps quite a bit. Hope that you start feeling better soon.

im just srarting peri. my periods have gone down to 3-4 days instead of 6-7. I feel like im dying. i get wierd feelings that go from this feeling down in my legs and goes all the way up to my arms. Feels like when you get CT dye . i think ive developed health anxiety cause i always feel like im going to die. i am urinating alot more daily no matter how much i drink. I have googled everything and i find out that i have everything from tetanus LGD or even lime disease. im a nurse which makes it worse cause i think too much about all the diseases i may have. Ive had anxiety attacks, and the fear of not wanting to leave my house. im trying hard to lean towards hormones, and ive had echo of my heart, blood work done and all is fine. SOMEONE please try to assure me im NOT dying. this is the damn hormones. headaches, peeing, cramps, anxiety... HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP ????

You are not dying, I as well have a health anxiety. Had a ton of blood work done, endoscopy, colonoscopy. I also have had severe anxiety especially in the morning, felt very fearful, not wanting to get out of bed. I was given a anti-depressant it took like 3 to 4 weeks to work, also was given a low dosage harmonal patch, that I have not used. I've put all of my faith in GOD, went to a women's retreat which really helped. You are okay, you need to tell yourself I am okay over and over again, go for a walk, give your anxiety and fears to GOD, or to a higher power. I'm here for you

      HI Jennifer.

I'm so sorry your having all of these symptoms. hard to believe some women don't have any ill effects. I'm 55 now and its been a long road. Your not dying. and your not alone!

my best advise is try not to STRESS. it will make all worse. taking good care of yourself is key. eat good. vitamins. exercise. excedrin for headaches is all that helped me.

a Naturopath over a MD any day. they help more i believe.

please be strong! i know it's very hard but don't stress! it will make everything worse.

      much love and support!

You sound just like me! I have had the same symptoms, the anxiety in the morning not wanting to leave the house and feelings of dread in the middle of the night..cramps in my legs and stomach...I had the issue with needing the toilet every 10 minutes, this fortunately seems to have stopped during the day but I get up at night often needing to go...Having had that ct scan dye injected in the past, I also know that feeling and its like that when I get a hot flush . I hope this reassures you in knowing others have experienced the same. I have tried all sorts of different things, menopause multi vitamins have helped a bit, it seems different things work for different people. Hope you find something that helps, sending lots of hugs xx

Hi- I also have leg problems like tingling and pain, in addition to feeling sick daily and have googled everything. I am a coder so working in healthcare makes you think the worst. I have had all tests come back normal, I just wish the doctor would say its menopause because it does make you feel crazy and anxious when you do not know what is going on. I am always thinking the doctor is missing something. I was so sick with my pregnancies so perhaps it is all hormone related.

    • Edited

Yes, when you are in menopause, everything is wrong, your stomach, your back, random aches, and pains, heart palpitation, tingling in arms and legs, if you can think of it you probably will have it, if your tests have come back normal, try and not play into it, I know it's hard believe me I am here right with you and if you look it up on the internet it is the worse possible thing, and all you do is keep thinking about it, until you worry yourself sick, and doing this your anxiety and worry gets worse.
