Rose, so thankful for you that the op is done. Relax and let the recovery begin. Hope those girls realise what a brave mum they have when they visit

Brave is doing what you have to, even though you are scared

Brave isn't not being scared. I think you're so very brave simply because you were so scared, but still went ahead. And if I remember correctly, much of your motivation was so you could be the best mum possible for your girls. I think that admirable!

I'm delighted to hear your good news Rose. You are right, the anticipation is much, much worse than the reality. I can't add anything helpful to what has already been said, except to reinforce the message that if paracetamol isn't enough for you (and if it is, kudos to you!) then holler for more. I was on morphine for the first four days and only then reduced down to paracetamol and codeine, with some gabapentin thrown in for good measure. I was in one of those hospitals that definitely doesn't want its patients in any pain at all, believing that mobility is more important.

It can only get better from here on in, and you will soon be home with the family.

It does seem too early to only be on panadol. Ask them what you're written up for on your chart. Then you can know what to ask for. If it's not enough ask your doctor for more when you see him. Unfortunately sometimes you have to be quite assertive to get what you want.

And as Renee said, pretend to be in a little more pain than you are. Don't let them see you be a hero.
