I have been dealing with gerd for almost 2 months. How long do I have to be on med for it work.

I went for gastrocopy. They said I have a gastritis and was put on PPI for 2 months. I was put on dexilant for 1 month and 3 weeks with mylan pantoprazole. Neither of these have helped. Was anyone in the same boat?

      Hi Sam,

Thanks for your reply! I have heartburn everyday and feel like food stuck in the chest area and lots of burping after eating. I am on bland diet. How long had you been PPI. I am planning to go see my dr to see if he could refer me to the specialist. Thanks for advice.

      Hi Sam,

I had a IBS for a short period of time. It has improved quite a bit. On top of that, I always feel like food got stuck in my esophagus but my the gastroscopy showed that my esophagus is o.k.

I am planning to see a naturopathic next Tuesday to see if I could implement some of the natural remedies into my treating plan. If anything works, I will let you know. Maybe I can ask the naturopathic about your symptom and see what he says. Please go see a dr and have it checked out.

Our body is a mystery isn't it? I am glad you're doing better.

I have been eating yogurt everyday. These past two days I didn't feel the warm sensation on my chest anymore but instead I feel 1 second of pain in my chest. Does that mean the med is working?

The heartburn I used to feel like 10 minutes but now it last a few seconds.

That's good u r taking yogurt full of good bacteria s I think so if ur chest pain has cal down with the medication then yes its working that s what exactly PPI s did to me helped a lot with my chest pain but I eat one Apple a day too to keep acid in my stomach with probiotics and vitamins and I'm using carbonated water therapy too which is helping with burping alot

We need lots of good bacteria s to control gut issues so yogurt is a good thing to start with plus eat small and less portion

Thanks for all your tips. Have you tried coconut water. That would help with indigestion. I drink it everyday. I am trying slippery elm tea but in small dosages. I do eat in small portions. I lost 10 bls in 1.5 months. My family dr said just to eat normal cuz I am o.k

He said just let the acidity come up. I think that is too risky for my esophogus.

Did your dr say anything to you?

Starting yesterday, my heartburn came an hour after eating. I used to feel it right after eating. Is it normal? Was it like that for you too.

By the way I think your gerd is in remission but we still have to be careful with food. My co worker had an ulcer and was put ppi for 3 months. She said she can never eat fatty food ever again. She would feel it right after. My weakness were spicy food and coffee. I think that is what set off this thing.
