I have been lightheaded and ears ringing for one year now

I started having symptoms a year ago. I was driving and all of a sudden I thought I was having a stroke. My vision went blurry, my ears started ringing and I got so dizzy I had to pull off the road. To this day, it has not gone away and has gotten worse. I have pressure in my ears, like they are full and they both ring constantly. My vision has changed in my left eye and it's blurry and I have double vision in that eye. It is so bad that it causes me a lot of anxiety. I have made an emergency trip to the hospital because I thought I was dieing. I have had MRI, CT, ENT, ENG, VNG tests done. I have seen 18 doctors and the only thing they can tell me is that I have lost my balance sensation in one ear that is causing my dizziness and unstableness. My legs are weak and shake and I would not dare stand on a ladder right now. I have been thru Vestibular Therapy exercises and they did not help. I am miserable and it has affected my daily function in life and is causing me to lose time at my job. My family is feeling the replicutions of my sickness too. I just want to feel NORMAL again. My brain is not working right and I have the sensation of falling all the time in my head. It is such a weird feeling and I can't fall asleep unless I take a sleeping pill and even now, I am waking up like I am falling. The ENT doctor has not made a diagnosis but I am taking some medicine to try to dry up fluid in my ears. Its hard to walk in a busy store without feeling dizzy or unstable and my vision is so off I can't see. I have had thoughts of not wanting to live like this anymore, that is how awful this disease or whatever this is I have is. Does anyone else have these symptoms or a diagnosis or maybe some ideas on how I can control it?
Thank you

Hi ruffoss33, we have the same symptoms, you might want to have your jaw checked by a tmj specialist.

Hi Brenda,
Hope all is well with you.
I'd experienced some of your symptoms and had MRI and hearing tests done. I had constant vertigo symptom episodes... to a point I wanted a medical certificate for work. Self diagnosing and felt terrible, went back to my family dr and had some blood works done. The result, I have high cholesterol with vitamin D deficient. Hearing test was normal. I am currently taking 4000 iu of vitamin D supplement and through God's grace I am fine.
I promised to advocate to include vitamin D testing on others that suffers vertigo symptoms.
Hope and pray you will be fine.

I am 50 and for two years now I have experienced most of ur symptoms.
after a blood test it was revealed that I was anemic and needed to add B12 and iron in my diet as well as daily excercise. I am now enjoying a normal life again.
hope this helps.

Hello everyone
I have read the post and I have been through all the tests that you all seem to have gone through and also have the dizziness and imbalance going on 2 yrs. What I am checking into now is my BP med. I am on Lisinopril 20 mg and 5 mg amlodipine. This in balance and dizziness came on really slow. As anxiety would appear the end balance and dizziness would also increase. For the anxiety I went on diazepam 2mg. I took half tab in a.m. & other half at bedtime. Dr said I could only be on this short time so I told her I wanted to try something more natural which was CBD oil and I did and it helped.
So I guess my question would be has anyone checked out any type of medication that could be causing this problem.

I have all the symptoms too, I know what it is it's called pppd , it's very common and can last month's years. DR Baloh at ucla Neuro clinic is the leader in this disorder. If you can see him he will diagnose you if you have it . The key to feeling better is a small dose of antidepressants like celexa or Zoloft like 25 for a month then 50 .that helps this so much .The second thing is attitude ,you have to force yourself to walk work out keep moving ,act like your normal ,power thru it. All my friends that had this are much better , and even I am driving again . I'm not 100 percent yet ,but I will be. This thing takes time and patients. You are not alone . Also taking a neurotransmitter test from a good natrapath can see if your brain chemicals are right ,if not, your given supplements to correct it , and that helps too. DO NOT give up it will get better.

My gallbladder was removed in 2015. I just had blood work done to see if my b12 levels are low. I have all the systems for b12 deficiency. It makes sense since Ive tried to cut out alot of meat from my diet..
Thanks for responding

i'm pretty sure you will b12 deficiency, check for B12 with methamelonic acid test. But I'm wondering why you still have these issues after GB removal. Do you have any gastritis or Barret esophagus? also for gallbladder is removed for you for stones or low functioning? if you dont have any digestion issues now , then do a VNG test to rule out vestibular problems and you might need physcial therapy excercises for dizziness to move the middle ear crystals in right position.
