Hello,

I'm 30 years old and have 6 children, this operation is taking over my life !! I'm starting to get really depressed and switching off to everyone, I've been reall S repressed a few years ago when with my X as we have 4 children together, before this opp my life was perfect, I'm getting married next year, found my perfect man and got 2 kids together now (6 in our eyes) and now everything seams to be falling apart because of me and Thai operation !!

They say don't lift anything more than a kettle full, but I'm in th real world and I'm sure unless your childless and don't work you can follow the rule exactly but I am strugerling already and my help goes next week when I'm 5 weeks post opp, I do have help most days BUT not to be able to pick my 6 month old up is killing me, I don't even feel like his mum and to even wrote this has me in tears, any advice I would really appreciate, even how is the correct position to sit 4 weeks after the opp as I'm in sure on that !!!

hi , my daughter was 8 months when i had my anterior repair, i know how you feel , there were days i was in tears due to feeling i was letting her down, u dont just "get over it" its a very emotional time especially when we are so used to doing everything , but was able still interact with her, either someone placing her on my knee or on the floor ,at 6 weeks post op when she was able to climb up 2 me i managed to pick her up after getting advice from my doctor , although my surgeon said there was nothing stopping me picking her up after op but physio said no , she is 10 months now and although i try not to constantly pick her up i still pick her up when needed , its very hard but you will get there xx

Ah thank you, it feels as if I'm alone in all this so hearing I'm not is so helpful :-) everyone puts my son on my knee or I feed him his bottles until he tries to jump off me lool and his bouncer is next to me so I can feed him dinners, my daughter gets upset I can't pick her up but she's sits with me and I'm lucky to be here I guess. I won't lift before 8 weeks but by 8 weeks I think I will have to lift my son abit more when help isn't there xx

Hi my son is 7 months now and I'm three weeks post op. My surgeon is very firm about no lifting baby for 12 weeks. I know it's an old post, but if you are still on the forum, can you please share some experience with me how did you manage to pick up your son when there's no help around.

And hope you ve been recovering well.
