I have strange anxiety symptoms and not convinced by doctors

Hi all, just seeing if anyone has similar, for a while now had pain in my left armpit /shoulder and top and bottom of back, I was convinced heart attack originally but after 4 ecgs and blood tests proved not, I have got it into my head it's heart disease, the doctors have assured me I haven't and keep saying anxiety, the scariest bit is I can do about a hour of activity housework walking gardening etc and I'm sweating loads, feel faint and need to sit down, now I am due to attend a echocardiagram soon but xray s show my heart as normal size and all stats are ok the doctors still say anxiety but I'm not so sure, can symptoms get this bad with anxiety? I'm in permanent pain

Does not sound like a heart problem, it very well ould be anxiety as some symptoms make you feel like this.
I get a tight chest and it feels awful with my anxiety i also feel faint and need to sit down so there are some similarities there.
When you say pain can you pinpoint where the pain is? could it be arthritis or something like that?
take care

Hi sandy
Yea I know exactly what you mean, I'm already there I'm afraid I thought cancer before, I've had health anxiety for a few years now, it comes and goes, just that this is the worse it's ever been (mind you I guess it always feels like that) the last few years I have been diagnosed with a p.e, sleep apnea and mild crohns so all that in small amount of time hasn't helped either

Hi Jon.
I don't suffer myself, but my partner has suffered with Anxiety for 20 years. He too experienced sore muscles, he actually did some research and asked about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. They referred him to a specialised CFS Clinic and he was diagnosed with this. He attended about 8 weeks of classes and came out as a new person. It is very closely linked with Anxiety. Please speak to you doctor about this, I really hope you get sorted. You will have to ask the doctor about it though, they don't discuss it as you know doctors like to make things better with pharmaceutical drugs...which my partner doesn't like using, as it just masks the problem, not fix it. I wish doctors offered more alternative therapy rather than push tablets.
I've seen what Anxiety is like on the other side, and I would dread to have it myself.
My partner has really bad health anxiety, so when he gets a certain pain he thinks it's something sinister. Waiting for tests is like waiting for xmas sometimes! He won't be better until he's been tested and has seen himself there's nothing wrong. He's currently waiting for a colonoscopy as he's had pains in his abdomen/bowel area for 8 weeks. A guy on here said to turn off wifi at night, and believe me when I say we did that last night and the night before and he's not had the severe pains....weird or just our imagination...I don't know.
But it's not the end of the world, there is help available…you just need to know where and who to turn to. Take Care xx

That really helped I can relate to that completely I will ask doctors about that and yea I know all about waiting for tests, one of them was a colonoscapy. if your husband is worried about the procedure (I was) please tell him it's nothing to worry about I had a light sedation to, just stay near toilet when taking the moviprep lol
