Hi all. Hope you are all well. On day 21 of sobriety but this week has held good new and bad news.

Bad news first. Had to attend a disciplinary meeting on Wednesday for being drunk on duty before Christmas. Painful, embarassing and emotional. Had the decision today and I have been dismissed for gross misconduct. I am worried, scared and very emotional with lots of thoughts running through my head.

The good news is that I didn't pick up a drink and that my blood tests for liver and kidney function have come back clear. After 20 years of heavy drinking that is a blessing.

I know that I am just at the beginning of my sobriety and life is going to get worse before it gets better but I am going to bed sober today and that is a good thing. Not sure if it will be the same tomorrow but I am taking it one day at a time.

Good night, God bless and thank you for all of your support.

      Hi Emma

I admire your courage and strength, you are a better person when it comes to the demon drink than I have been.  I congratulate you on not turning to it on your dismissal, that must must have taken such determination.

Sending you my very best wishes for a prosperous and sober future.
