I just got some bumps around my anus. Freaking out it’s herpes

I'm freaking out as to why its near my anus since i only have vaginal intercourse.

from what i have read they are very painful but i have no pain just when i wipe i do feel irritated.

genital herpes can come up anywere in the boxer short region! its from skin to skin contact vaginal or anal sex doesnt really matter!

it may just be irritation but at least with a swab you can be fully sure 😃

Opps commented before i was done. When you go in, get swabbed but also asked for an IGG type blood test. It is the most accurate as long as the virus has been in your system for more than 4 months (which if you havent had ANY physical contact with anyone, meaning no oral either) then it should be effective)

To ease your mind a little, 80% (likely more) if the population have herpes. 80% of those people, dont know theyre carriers and herpes is not tested for on routine STD tests as the CDC feels the emotional impact of knowing is far worse than the virus itself, so unless you have outbreaks, they think its better if you just dont know.

anywho, all to say, if the results come back positive, youre not anywhere near alone and i encourage you to do some research. i found it helped me with my diagnosis.

but I havent had any sexual contact for over 7 months and its the first time i see this. i have no pain ive also asked the partner i was with.

i just feel like my life will be over !

i havent had any pain like ive read and no flu or fever for over a year ! im able to sit with no discomfort only when i poop and wipe it just irritates it. I'm going tomorrow and hoping its not positive ! how long until results come back

The person probably wouldnt know his herpes status. you have to specifically ask for an IGG blood test or have an active outbreak swabbed in order to know. its not tested for on regular STD tests. 80% of carriers have no idea!

The stigma around herpes is far worse than the actual virus, i promise you. theres no negative physical affects other than just an outbreak. You can still have sex, still have kids naturally, theres medication out there to help limit the chances of transmission to like 1%. It seriously doesnt limit you in the slightest!

Its scary because of the stigma. The actual virus is basically harmless.

Some people havs HSV for years and years without having an outbreak.

I was visually diagnosed right away, it took a week to get my swab results back telling me what type it was.

Is he the only person who youve had oral sex with as well? HSV can be transmitted through receiving oral as well.

HSV can lay dormant for years, so if hes not the only person you've ever had any sexual contact with, it could also be someone else.

Best of luck hun, keep me posted. it's honestly not a huge deal! Nothing in your life is really affected in any way. Out of all incurable things, this is probably the best to have! Ridiculously common as well, the nurse who diagnosed me said if someone comes in by the time theyre in their 50s and dont have HSV, theyre the minority!

Not necessarily! The virus can lay dormant for years, but it can still be transmitted. Thats why so many people have it and don't even know!!

If hes ever had a cold sore, even as a child, he could've transmitted it to you genitally just by giving you oral, without any signs.

he has never gave me oral. and he says he hadnt been with anyone else and is clean wouldnt it come out in my vagina ?

he also said he got tested last year.

it was a nurse practicioner she said it looked like herpes !im freaking out she swabbed it i kept asking for blood test for accurate results but she refused to. I havent had any sex since November. i went to planned parenthood and she barely even looked at it.

A swab will be the most accurate right now. otherwise you have to wait 4 months in order for your body to build enough antibodies for a reliable blood result.

Has he received oral from anyone?

I really dont think he has been tested. He may think he has, but STD testing does not include herpes. You have to specifically ask for an IGG type test in order to know your status, and it has to be 4 months after exposure. He may honestly think hes clean, (although, if he hasn't been with anyone else previously, i dont know why he would think to get tested).

The swab will be your most accurate result if it was done within 72 hours.

Unfortunately it was over that i believe i noticed it thursday and made my appointment for monday today. I Kept asking for the blood test since its been over four months I've been exposed to any sexual contact so it would be more accurate but she refused to she even said if it came back negative it could be false and she wouldnt know what else it could be. but why not take a blood teat instead.

I already told him about it and that he needs to go asap and request a blood test cause he hasn't had any symptoms whatsoever .

Yeah! i was in a different country so

didnt have access to health care so had to wait! was brutal! mine was really on the front! positive for hsv2

oh ok i see! i have had no pain or discomfort that didnt allow me to go about my day. im hoping for the best at this point.
