I keep waking up early in the morning with random intrusive thoughts??

Hi,

I keep waking up 2-3 hours earlier than I normally do, with random fast paced intrusive thoughts in my head that prevent me from going back to sleep. It almost feels like im half awake and half asleep. The thoughts are of anything and everything and they do not focus on anything in paticular but they manage to keep me up in the morning. For example, the thoughts could be something as weird as a character from a TV show speaking a sentence or a thought about someone or something but I cant seem to control it.

I have an anxiety disorder but I can cope with it currently quite good, I feel alright in the day so I dont know what is causing this early morning weirdness in my head, but its ruining my sleep pattern and Im getting really tired.

I drink a coffee a day, a diet coke, and have a generally average good diet, I also take vitamin B6 & magnesium supplement throughout the week.

I would understand this all if I was generally waking up and worrying about things in my life (as anxiety has done this to me in the past) but there is nothing core I am focusing on, just a bunch of fast paced, STRANGE, intrusive thoughts. Please help?!!? I want to stop this.

Do you take medication for your anxiety and do you get any therapy?

Hi, I don't take any meds as it isnt as severe as it was in the beginning & no I do not get any therapy but I am thinking about getting therapy in the future.

I just really want to know why this happens to me, and if there are any causes or things that contribute to it happening?

Can you get on a waitlist for therapy ASAP?

I dont feel the need to at this very time in my life as I can cope with my anxiety as it's not constant. I came on here to see if I could get any insight on why this happens.

I think you should get on a therapy waitlist anyways, if it gets worse, being at the top of the list will probably be better. Anxiety can often get harder to deal it, so it's better to be safe than sorry, especially if it comes constant.

There are 100's of anxiety symptoms just as you get rid of one another comes along.

There is no rhyme or reason to it

Do you have a therapist of a counsellor or someone who can help?

It sounds like you could possibly have OCD. I have OCD and that's basically what happens when mine bothers me is weird thoughts just pop into my mind. Sometimes bad thoughts and then it triggers my anxiety. My daughter has it also.

If I were you, avoid the coffee and coke as they are full   of cafeine.  That may be why you are waking earller. As  for the thoughts you  may need to discuss it with a Dr.  But try eliminating those two things firstly.

Caffeine is so dangerous for people who suffer with anxiety as I know myself if I drink them, I get very anxious. Cut these out and discuss further.

I suffer with these fast paced thoughts myself, there awful

    Hi there smile

Have you ever looked up 'closed eye hallucinations'? I get similar thoughts to you. They tend to be completely random and usually faces saying or doing something. Apparently these are closed eye hallucinations and are a lot more common that you think, people just get varying stages of them.

I've noticed that I get them when I'm pretty tired, so this might explain why you're getting them in the night.

Google it if you get the change, you might find it explains what you're experiencing. Hope I've helped smile
