I keep waking up early in the morning with random intrusive thoughts??

Hi,
I keep waking up 2-3 hours earlier than I normally do, with random fast paced intrusive thoughts in my head that prevent me from going back to sleep. It almost feels like im half awake and half asleep. The thoughts are of anything and everything and they do not focus on anything in paticular but they manage to keep me up in the morning. For example, the thoughts could be something as weird as a character from a TV show speaking a sentence or a thought about someone or something but I cant seem to control it.
I have an anxiety disorder but I can cope with it currently quite good, I feel alright in the day so I dont know what is causing this early morning weirdness in my head, but its ruining my sleep pattern and Im getting really tired.
I drink a coffee a day, a diet coke, and have a generally average good diet, I also take vitamin B6 & magnesium supplement throughout the week.
I would understand this all if I was generally waking up and worrying about things in my life (as anxiety has done this to me in the past) but there is nothing core I am focusing on, just a bunch of fast paced, STRANGE, intrusive thoughts. Please help?!!? I want to stop this.

Hello, I am experiencing this right now and I'm kind of scared and very tired. Did you ever figure out what was wrong? I used to experience something similar when i was younger, but it had gone away until now. If you see this, please tell me if you hace any ideas. These other replies kind of suck...

Hey Jamal. I know this is an old post, but I experience the same thing. It's annoying to say the least. but it could literally be anything. Last night for instance... it was a Korean recipe. I couldn't tell you what it is now... but I couldn't think of the name of it either... or the exact proportions of ingredients. I was up literally all night stressing over this nonexistent recipe. This is a weekly occurrence for me. I need it to stop. Have you found any answers?

The Fact Jamal has not posted on here in years prob shows she got better and did not feel the need to return.. This will happen all of us hopefully.
I do often get these racing thoughts in morning and they always go after a while when anxiety settles down.. its just one of many symptoms..
