I'm 28 year old, and just recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right hip. I feel like my future has been cut short. I constantly experience pain in the thigh, and the groin. When I wake up in the morning, my right leg feels discomft, damped, and stiff - like bones, stacking on top of bones, and I have to force my leg to move up slowly.

I also have ankolysing spondylitis. I am very frustrated, all those years, when i told my local Gps about this sharp pain in my leg - they would conclude it's due to my ankolying spondylitis disease. without taking proper x-rays back then, my condition is quite severe - loss of cartilage in my hip, causing bone-touching-bone.

I am not fat - infact, I am skinny -very skinny because i have hyperthyroidism, so no matter how much i eat, i won't get fat. i'm still wondering whether it's because i am under-noursihed, and carry heavy things, and jumping high when i was a kid, contribted to the lost of cartilage at a young age....

    Hi SES.

Sounds like you are getting somewhere now. If you can get a correct diagnosis, it should help you receive the best medication, & maybe control the pain better.

It does sound extremly painfull with it attacking several joints. Atleast with me its just my right hip. How do you manage with your children ?

Are you like me SES, when your out and about through the day, nobody sees that anything is wrong with you. Its only when you get home that you feel you have pushed it too far & your in complete agony & start popping the old pills. I just hate the night time & first thing in the morning.

Yeah, this winter has been the worst one for me. If I feel any cold on any part of my leg, it seems to set in for good & cause me great pain. I`m sick of wearing thermal long johns under my jeans

Glad to hear you have got a decent GP now, that makes such a difference. My GP is really good & understanding, she is refering me to a Homeopethy lady. Iam willing to try anything.

We are both too young for all this crap, it shouldnt be happening. Anyways, best of luck with the scan & biopsy.

    Hi Rictina,

Thanks for your reply, yeah at 36 you wouldn't think things like this would happen...... I have had loads of urine infections and my breathing gets effected too, it is so weird, but hey it is all piecing together now..... finally.

Yeah I walk with a crutch and yes we look ok on the outside but it is so painful to walk....... if I didn't get out though, I would stiffen up more and I would get demented I think, although due to the cold weather the pain is extremely worse as my left hip , knees, left shoulder and hands it is hard to function? My three year old picks things up for me as I can't bend forward also due to my difficulties  and the girls help me too whilst my hubby is at work.

Anyway I will be offline for a week or so it is a long story so please hang in there and I hope the Homeopathy appointment helps you xxxx

    Take care xx
