I'm sorry you feel so depressed and that your partner left you, I used to have Bv from the age of 17 till about 29. And had tried everything to get rid of BV, went to the doctor multiple times for antibiotics but as soon as I stopped taking them my BV came back again. Upon turning 30 I decided to become a vegetarian and eventually turned vegan, during this period I noticed my BV or at least the smell was completely gone. I now only smell a little during or around my period, but other than that I don't have the awful fishy smell anymore. What I did : cutting out sugar, so no sodas or store bought juices only water with Lime, plain water or tea without sugar. Sugar makes it worse. Eating a plant based diet, avoiding alcohol intake as I noticed this also makes it worse. What helped me on days during or around my period when I noticed a hint of a fishy smell was Balance Activ BV vaginal gel. Mind you, I'm not saying you should become a vegan or vegetarian just wanted you to know that this is what helped me to get rid of my BV after suffering for so long. I really hope some of these tips will help you, as I know that dealing with BV is horrible.

Have you tried different soaps like coal tar or aloe vera or black soap as they may take the smell away.

As well as, sometimes at my worst with this complaint I have taken major tranquilers because it can affect your mind and the tablet can take away the ghastly feeling of this complaint. I went to my GP about this complaint and said I felt horrendous. He, along with many people will not acknowledge that some complaints affect the mind, they choose to have something either physical or mental. In the end I did win. I did get better from all types of things such as Greek yoghurt, tranquilizers, sea salt baths. Balance Active from the chemist may help.

    oh no! im so sorry.

    Have you tried the following?

    • bath soak in witch hazel that contains aloe vera
    • boric acid vaginal capsules
    • apple cider detox tea (acv)
    • lemonade with only fresh squeezed lemons and a high ph alkaline level water. A purified water is fine too.

If I get a hint of BV, i do my bath soak and insert the capsule after. The capsule you may need to insert nightly for 5-7 or 7-10 days.

ACV detox tea...based on my research, its really the fresh squeezed lemons that do the trick. They are very acidic, which is whats needed for the dreaded BV. I drink the tea occasionally but lemonade, I personally drink at least 2 glasses everyday and especially right before or after sex. I must say I havent had any more issues thus far.

GOOD LUCK! Prayers are with you.

Ask your doctor for Solosec. Its the only thing that worked for me after 2.5 yrs suffering. It came out in 2017. It is expensive because it isnt covered under most insurances. However, my doctor gave me a discount card and it only cost me $25. ( you just have to say you have no insurance and you can get the discount) My doctor knew I had insurance and so did my pharmacy.....so she just sent it to a pharmacy that I never used and said I didnt have insurance.

Good luck and hang in there!

If you are going to the doctors anyways, see if they will check your vitamin levels. I initially thought that Vitamin D3 cured my BV because most of my symptoms went to nearly nothing when I regulated my Vitamin D levels. I take 5000 IU daily. (which my doctor thought was ALOT but I still become deficient every now-and-then on that dose) I DO think a deficient of vitamin D plays a big part of recurring BV.

I never read Solosec reviews until just now and some sound horrible....that it can make you vomit and how horrible the taste is etc. Honestly, I sprinkled it and mixed it in a chocolate pudding cup and gulped it down as fast as I could. ( in less than 3 minutes) I barley tasted it because I didnt chew it (DONT your not supposed to) sure its not the most pleasant thing in the world but after suffering for so long I would have ate my own sh*t to get rid of BV. (not really, but you know what I mean)

Solosec stays in your system for 4 days. I was convinced 6 days after I took it that it didnt work. By day 8 all symptoms were gone and haven't had a symptom in nearly 3 months.

Good luck and let us know if it works for you!

have you forgiven him and truly moved past that? sometimes our bodies physically reject our partners if we subconsciously are having doubts or are not following our intuition i first got it because of a similar reason.

    Have you seen a gynacologist?

I do sympathise because I have been having recurring BV, and it has, at times been unbearable. I wonder if you are in the Uk or the Usa or another place. I have asked my doctor for sonecal antibiotic but he said it is not on their formula, it is similar to tinadazole. Whatever the cause of BV and the smell there has to be an answer to the problems. I am in the Uk. I know the medical profession can be dismissive about this problem. I said flagyl (metronidazole) don't work but that's all they were prepared to give (possibly because it is cheap). The Uk are doing things on the cheap at the moment as the country is an economic down turn but I think it has always been this way for women with women's problems, that they are considered to be a nuisance and not taken at face value as individual people with substantial problems. Of course some women will say that the medical profession are fantastic . Don't give up.
