I'm now officially a hippie!

Hi everyone, I'm back in my room, everything went well. SB is now wearing off so starting to feel a little uncomfortable. I couldn't have wished for a better team, they've been brilliant. Thank you to everyone that wished me well x

Congratulations on being an official hippie.

Did things go the way that you expected or were there any surprises?

I hope you have a good night.

Hi Chloe, yes everything went well. No surprises. I have had SB with sedation (that was weird - someone told me it was like having your legs encased in cement & they were right). Half way through they had to wake me up a bit because my blood pressure was a tiny bit low & the surgeon was hammering away! Strangely enough, the noise was my biggest fear but I was chatting & laughing with the anaesthetist & didn't really care - it really is great & nothing to be scared of. I've just had my first morphine as I'm aching quite a bit but it's not the pain I was expecting. Please keep in touch x

I thank you for saying this about the SB and waking you up 1/2 way through and NOT caring! Now I won't worry about that!!

Seriously, I think I made the poor anaesthetist's ears fall off whilst he was putting the needle in my back (which didn't hurt)! All I kept saying was make me go to sleep, I don't care what you do as long as I'm asleep, I hate the dentist because of the noise! I really, really didn't care one bit! If I can be a little graphic (!) The worst bit so far is having a wee on a bed pan (it took me 7 hours to wee, I never go that long at home)! & It trickling down my bum! How undignified is that! X

      good morning darling,

wow, you sound so coherent !!!!!

doesn't look like you had a lot of sleep last night-

you have a busy day ahead of you - good thing you will be able to go to the toilet by yourself by the end of the day or sooner ...

oh, those dreaded bedpans ...why are they so uncomfortable and so small ????

      big hug

Morning Renee, I must admit, I was expecting to sleep like a log with all the meds inside me but I was awake until 2.00am, dozed off until 3.30 & then I had to have my antibiotics through the IV! After that I just dozed listening to the bird song at 4.00am! I can't wait to heave myself out of bed & have a wee in peace! X
