How was your surgery? Mine went well. Can read well with the new lens. Dr visit this morning all is well there, also. A little blurry, scratchy yesterday but nothing today. Also, Nancy, are you from Michigan? I am.

Victoria - you mentioned you got mono lenses for near. Would be interested if you can also see intermediate well and if you then just need glasses for distance.

I have thought about doing that too rather than Symfony lenses as I really don't want to lose my near vision. Even with cataracts my near vision still

Ok.My surgeon mentioned most chose mini for distance. Didn't get the impression he thought I should go with mono set for near - better getting them for distance.

      Thanks for your input.

Yes, I am so thankful I went this route. I do mostly reading and computer and it's great. My left eye will never be good no matter what because of a macular pucker. I have a distance lens in it, but it really isn't too good for that. I bought a pair of readers at the dollar store, the strength my Dr said he would use. Since I had my left eye done already, I pushed out that lens and wore the glasses for a couple of weeks to see how it worked. I'd do it over again in a heartbeat. Try using a cheap pair of readers to see how you like it.

It would be difficult for me to try that out as I do not need readers for near. That is why I thought monofocals set for near would give me what I have now. It is difficult for me to contemplate losing my near vision if I go with a monofocal set for distance (I do not think monovision is something I could get used to and that too I cannot test out as I have cataracts in both eyes.)

Then there is the Symfony lens which interests me - but then there is no guarantee I can see past the glare and halos. This is a troublesome decision with no way of knowing what outcome will be. The more I read the more confused I am.

Really hope your surgery went well. I am scheduled for next month so completely understand the nerves. Got them myself.
