I MADE IT 😊

Well here I am. Found myself after op in recovery in agony for some reason. They were pumping Morphine into me like there was no tomorrow......

they decided to transfer me to the private hospital for the night, to get pain meds under control.

SO I am doped to the eyeballs.....excuse any typo's in this post.

i have had some food and a cuppa. They have me on Panadol 4 hourly, Targin slow release at night and Endone if I need topping up. Hence im in the right place πŸ˜€. I did expect lots of pain for the first week.....the severity just surprised me. But in saying that there were two others in recovery who had shoulder ops different to mine and they seemed to be doing much better than me. Mine was Β re attaching tendon to bone as well as frozen shoulder. Anyway guys.....so tired, just wanted to touch base 😘❌❌❌❌

Yes Linda, it sounds like my experience. I saw the consultant 7 weeks post keyhole op and was given a cortosoid injection.....boy did that hurt! Had them before and no bother, but this was straight into the muscle! Ouch! Fainted and bp raised to 193!Β

Another 5 weeks went by Β and still no better. Reviewed again and decided to do mua first then keyhole if unsuccessful. it took ages to be done. Successful mua and now I'm on the mend. It was amazing. The following day I removed the sling and never looked back. Challenging physio working on severely wasted muscles but I'm nearly there.

6 months off work and I return on Monday as phased return. Full time reception teacher....left handed ( left shoulder op) I'm looking forward to it, but dreading the tiredness and managing to think quickly! I've been in a little bubble.....a safe haven bubble at home. It's going to be sooooo strange.

however, ladies, I want to say that I've been through hell,Β

      Oops it sent too early.

.......I've been though hell and that's way before I involved the GP. BUT ladies, I'm through the other side! Perseverance, no bravery awards, lots of meds, a fantastic family and Curly Wurlys! Have seen me through.

i wish I'd seen this thread before my op. It's brilliant.

      good luck everyone xxxxx
