I smell awful, but it’s a smell that I myself never smell

Basically going on almost 3 years now I’ve been experiencing this horrible smell down there. I do believe the smell is internal (vag canal). No matter what I do and how many times I wash the smell never leaves. Apparently those around me can smell it and it smells like “sh**” . It’s ruining my life, lost my career from calling out from work out of embarrassment, been to several doctors and Gyn constantly they all say “you’re fine, no std and no smells” I really Really need a cure  HELP

Hey! I’ve been dealing with this for years now and what you and I are dealing with is called BV (bacterial vaginosis) it’s when the bad bacteria overthrows the good bacteria in your Lady part. A few medicines that has helped me control my bv are cranberry capsules and acidophilus they have them at Kroger’s and I believe are maybe 6 dollars for a bottle. I am still dealing with Bv but it’s not as bad as it use to be, also it’s great to go to a doctor to make sure it is that but it’s kinda pointless because they will prescribe you flagyl and it will LITERALLY come right back. But please know that you are not alone in this it’s so many other women going through this, it sucks because we have to put in extra work to have a normal ph balance but it’ll all be worth it once we find the cure! I love you and you aren’t alone!

Omg it’s comforting to know that I’m not the only one seriously, I’m so glad I joined this forum. I remember explaining my problem to my mother and she basically brushed it off and said something like “ it’s nothing, you don’t smell”. Like really, I open up to you and this is your response. Growing up we never had any type of discussions that other parents might have with their kids and maybe that is part of why I gotten to this point in my health life.

Same! I’ve never just been open about telling my mother about certain issues like when I first started my period I didn’t even tell my mom I just handled the situation on my own. Even with this, I didn’t tell my mom about my BV because I was so embarrassed and when I told her she never called the gynecologist until I became very transparent with her and told her how it affected my self esteem and how it could worsen if she didn’t get me the proper things I needed in order to treat it. So maybe, you just have to be honest with her and really let her know how it’s affecting you and she will understand and get you the things you need.
