I think I have Blepharitis- advice, lashes grow weird?

hi I think i have blepharitis - ive had problems with styes and a huge bump under my lid, in april. The eye doctor told me to put warm compresses until it was gone. But then another stye returned after it was gone - and the eye doc then told me i maybe had to put warm compresses on my eye for the rest of my life.. without really explaining why or giving me a diagnosis? I still felt like something was wrong with my eyes.. but i kept doing what he said. I've been scared of using contacts and makeup on eyes because I feel like itll come back if i do it. But im so unhappy and now ive noticed my lashes grow weird places and are a bit shorter than the others and less thick than usual - my eyelids are sometimes a little red - and sometimes my lids also look swollen (but im the only one who notices that) - my lashes fall off sometimes .. i also have this red spot or what to call it on my upper waterline with small bumps ( only on left eye)..

no one really wants to listen or help me sort it out. My family think ive been reading too much on google so they are tired of listening to me, and i definitely have become very obsessed with it.. im going to see an eye specialist next week so i hope to sort it out then. But I just want a bit advice on how to handle this and if its easy to live with and accept. so far its been hard mentally, because im a huge makeup lover, and i cant live without contact lenses - now i wear no eye makeup and glasses and i dont feel like myself. it probably sounds ridiculous but, i just feel like i lost a part of myself, a part of what i love.

and im absolutely tired of wearing glasses - is it even possible for me to get lasik surgery? or wear contacts again? or makeup?

i dont have the other symtomps as: feeling of burning eyes, itchy ( rarely), sensitive to light, oily eyelids, sticky eyes (or my lashes can sometimes stick to each other when i blink?),

god this message is probably annoying, but i'm just so worried and sad and id really like to talk to someone who know about this and can help.

btw i rinse my eyes with camomile tea in the lorning and night - and i have these wipes for the eyes that i use - also i steam my face every night as well..

I too have blepharitis. This site turned me on to using the Wet Ones with Benzethonium Chloride in them and it worked for me. Since COVID, I have been unable to find the Wet Ones I was using. The ones I have bought now have Benzalkthonium Chloride and they do not work as well, but I still use them daily.

Good Luck and if anyone knows where to buy the original Wet Ones please advise.

do the wet ones help to keep your eyelashes normal? even if they're not the original ones. And how do you use them?

      thanks

Yes they do help, but not as much as the original ones. I wipe the rims of my eyelids, top and bottom with the wipes after washing my face. I cut the wipes in 4 pieces and tear the piece in half and use one half for each eye. I do not use the same piece on separate eyes. Lynda, on this site is the one who came up with this idea, If you can find her on this site, she is very knowledgeable. Hope it works for you.

    Dear elle,

It does sound like Blepharitis. You will probably get that info when you see the eye doctor next week.

I was able to use Wet Ones with Benzethonium Chloride.3% to get rid of the symptoms but people are having a hard time finding them even online because of the Pandemic. Funny thing is that they kill bacteria but not a virus. People are buying them for their hands and it won't kill the virus.

Keep trying to find them but make sure the last ingredient is Aloe Barbadensis Leaf juice.

People are using honey from New Zealand too, Manuka honey, and it seems to help. Please read the posts and there is Tea Tree Oil that is diluted to 50/50 with olive oil that could help. Please read the posts and see what you are willing to try.

    Hope this helps a little,

Hi Lynda, I saw your reply for Elle- have you ever tried optase tea tree eye gel? or anyone else that has tried it? I read reviews for it and one person said it stopped their eyelashes falling out.

or do you have any other tips to stop eyelashes falling out (apart from the wet ones; i am nervous to try the wet ones).

      thanks

I have been using Dermalmd eyelash growth serum for over four years. It works great! It takes about 4 months to get the full effect, but I began noticing a change in just one week. Has lengthened my lashes considerably, and has promoted growth of more lashes. Has not caused discoloration of my eyelids. Has not caused any change in coloration of the blue iris of my eyes. Great product. Highly recommended.
