      Thank Renee,

after feeling sick, in pain and dizzy for the first 24 hours, I'm now feeling much better, stood up this afternoon with zimmerframe, walked to the toilet, got taken for an x-ray to see how the implant fits.

no appetite, taking 2 strong paracetamol every 4 hours, took oral morphine last night, felt so sick, but, it's worked for the pain. Did a little pysio today, blood pressure back to normal. All seams well at the moment but, I will not be surprised if I go backwards and forwards for the next few weeks. I have the time and will take it easy. I'm still so thrilled that the op is over and done with!

thank you Renee and everyone else out there who supported me.

      good morning -

I remember the first 24 hours ... the euphoria that you have done it and it is over and dealing with the after effects I found a surreal experience -

ease into the night and day -

      warm hug

Hi Veronica, your experience sounds very similar to mine. The morphine made me feel very sick and my blood pressure plummeted. They had to put me on different painkillers. They got me up the next day and I took a couple of steps with a frame, but was too light headed to do more. The next day I was on crutches walking to the loo. Don't have much appetite yet, but it's early days.

best wishes for your continued improvement.

      Hi Shirley

very up and down at the moment. Slept better last night. I've been so tired with only getting about 3 hours sleep a night. Really can't get used to sleeping on my back. Moving about better now, but feel very stiff. Frustrated that I can't do all the things I want to!!

      Hi Stephie,

      Just take it easy.

      Don't overdo it.

Sleeping on your back is not nice but best to be on the safe side.

      Lots of pillows!

      Best wishes,

      Shirley

Notice you had light GA  did you sleep through it or do you remember anything.  I am scheduled for tomorrow.  (Monday in Canada)  I am freaking out tonight even though it is my second time around .  First one in March and now the other.

      Hello Isabelle in canada,

      Good luck for tomorrow,

I had a spinal and what is known as a light GA, it's actually sedation and it works brilliantly, I too was petrified, I asked anesthetist for a general and he talked me into a spinal, I said that I did not want to be awake or hear anything, he promised me that I wouldn't; and I didn't, came around in the anti room and it was all done, and as I was numb from the waist down I felt nothing for 8 hours. I'm 6 days on not from first RTHR, feeling good. Try not to worry, stay calm, take care.

      Hi Shirley

      I'm doing well thank you,

Home yesterday after 5 days in Hosp, lovely to be in own bed surrounded by my family, off pain killer unless I get pain again, just on blood thinners.

Slept well last night, and woke up to decent coffee this morning!

How much do you think this hip thing weights? I didn't eat for 3 days but have put on weight!

      Take care Shirley.

      Hi veronica,

      Good girl, well done.

The hip they put in is not very heavy but they do put in a lot of fluid while you are in theatre. It comes out as urine eventually.

Take it easy, there is not a lot you can do anyway,

      Hugs
