I've had a scab on my lip for a couple of weeks, any ideas what it could be?

I seem to remember having a blackhead in the same area, which I extracted, but I'm not sure if it became infected. I've had a scab for two weeks, is there anything I should do?

    MichaelB5 it sounds as if it might be a form of herpes. There is a special cream for this if it is, just ask the pharmacist for a tube and it will clear up quickly. I don't think it has anything to do with blackheads as these do not form on membrane tissue. If it is herpes this is contagious and it can also have been inherited.  It is not serious as once you have the special cream it will clear up rapidly.

    I think I am having what you had.  The black spots faded and the skin got scaby and would peel off and get scabby again and would peel off again every 3 days or so.  I has been 4 weeks now.  My doctors don't know what it is and told me to put steroids oinment.  I am not sure how long this scaby cycle will keep going on. How long did yours last? How did you resolve yours?
