I've Lost The Power To Post !

Good Morning, my friends in battle.

My iPad power connection cable has broken... the part that slots in, to power up, has split.  One little wire has detached... so it won't charge.  What on earth will I do today?  Posting on here has become my favourite pastime.  I check Notifications obsessively !

I'll get back when I can get a new cable.

Power down to 12%, now.

Keep Well and Conquer( the drink) !

    Best luck, Alonangel! If you can't get a new one in town, Amazon perhaps?

      Thanks, ADEfree.  God has given me a reprieve, for the moment.  I can't get to town, I am not well enough for the journey.

      I will check Amazon out.  I am one of their best customers.  I shop during the night, when normal people sleep.  I'm no stranger to eBay, either.

      Thanks Nicole.  I probably could use my phone to Post... but I don't know how to.   I am a " Techno-phobe"!

      I just use the phone for phoning(really?) and texting.

      I use my iPad for all things Internet.  

      I've got some power just now...God helped me.

      How are you getting on with the old battle?

      Hi angel

      The battle the last couple of days is beating me,drunk over 2 bottles each day.Just had a large glass and don't feel like anymore thank god.Feeling really ikky from all the wine and I have a red angry rash on my arms and somewhat less angry on my stomach and legs (don't know if it's to do with the alcohol but it has me worried)

      I've got my second prescription for Nalmefene and this time it's for a whole month.Im having more blood tests on Monday as my doctor wants to see what my cholesterol is.Im also going to the nurse on the 25th to have a 24 hour blood pressure monitor fitted because it was quite high so I can see more pills being prescribed

      i only text and use my phone for phoning and do Tesco pay as you go..no contract but some people no longer have landlines and only mobiles and it then makes sense...most modern phones are brilliant and you do not always need a laptop or ipad etc if your phone works...all good!! Robin

      Oh Nicole, I don't know whether to laugh or cry.  I am much the same as you, just now.  Overdrinking the Units... regardless of the medication... I am at a loss to try any explanation.  I start off really well... then fall away, fast !

      Are you taking any other medications?

      Are you taking any herbal supplements?

      Can Nalmefene cause a side-effect rash?  I don't see that on the printed list.    I forget how long you are taking it.

      I have an "all over the body" rash.  It has been there a long time.  It itches beyond endurance.  I have had many treatments... but it won't go away.

      I thought it was alcohol-related, but when I stopped drinking for 20 months, 3 years ago,  the rash stayed on... and on...and on.

      Are you allergy- prone?  I am.

      Been taking Nalmefene nearly 3 weeks so still early days and not taking anything else.I won't drink anymore today but mainly because I feel so yukk and my stomach is bad.

      Three weeks is really early days and there will be drinking sessions where it appears to be slower, and others when things appear to be like it used to be - these are absolutely normal so do not be alarmed or worried that it isn't working.

    Old fashioned is good and reliable, I use a computer (laptop) to connect to the internet, for the last 26 years. Some of you were probably still in school in 1990.

    Bring back the Commodore Amiga.

      Ha, ha, ha !  You do take the proverbial biscuit, RHGB.

      We had a Commodore... back "in the day".  It was my husband's pride and joy.   I was not at all jealous !!  I could not stand the thing !!!

      I was in school in 1990, I had been teaching for 14 years, then.  Beware of how old we are.

    Wey.. hey.. hey !  

    The Lord has worked in His mysterious way !!

    I switched the blessed iPad off, earlier.  I had left the connection cable in it.  Now, when I have switched back on, the power is at 55%.  This is very weird... there are 4 little wires on the bit that is exposed... the white casing for it split off.  Well... here come the technical miracle... The little red, black and green wires are attached, the white one is detached and I cannot make it stick into or onto anything.

     My technical terminology is limited.  My technical knowledge is limited. I lead a limited life!!!

    Thank goodness my excitement didn't make me forget Paragraphs.  I will now get back to my Notifications O.C.D., this may be a short term miracle.  I need to make the most of the time I have left... so to speak.  The power has decreased 3% while I have been writing this ramble.

      Oh no..I would die without my computer.

      ​One thing I am so curious about is why everyone that drinks remains sounding kind of happy.  I'm so beaten down from the 2 days of drinking...all I want to do is cry.

      We are usually drunk, when Posting.  Give me a song, Misssy... I will join in. Pi**ed.  I cry a lot when sober.  Then, freak it, I just have a drink !

      I used to get somewhat happy when drinking....but not anymore...I'm always down...drinking or not...but I'm better when I am NOT drinking.

      Oh Paper fairy, what on earth is going on ?  We are all crap at the same time. The Demon is having a party.  

      I have done so well today... I've thrown up.  I haven't been that bad for a while.  A while later...yes... I had more drink.  I haven't been that bad for a while.  The day is not over yet.  I know where a can of beer is, in the house.  It belongs to my husband.  I don't like beer.  I know that I will drink it.  I haven't been that bad for a while.

      I freaking give up.  Tomorrow is another day, again... I hope.

      God help us all... please.

      i've been wondering where you were.

      ​I feel like horrible today from only drinking 2 days.  I know that if I weren't being tested randomly...I would have drank today too....thank God I didn't but it will happen again Im sure. 

      ​I'm so sick of this alcohol crap.
