I've seen my foot for the first time since surgery!!

I had Akin Osteotomy on 20th October 2014 and went to get my stitches out today and got to see my foot for the first time since the surgery! I've attached some before and after pictures.

I am so happy with the result and surprised that there isnt much swelling. I have kept my foot elevated for the past 2 weeks and aim to do it as much as possible over the next month or so. I've been lucky and not had any pain since the 2nd day, but expect this may begin once I start walking a bit more. I only had every other stitch taken out in the end as they said the wound was not totally healed so getting the rest out in 5 days. I am so pleased with the resultand cant stop looking at the pictures! I am looking forward to going shoe shopping once I am fully recovered!

Thanks for posting the photos.  So good to see a real life example.  Your foot looks great now.  What is the long term prognosis?  Is it flat shoes from now on?

Thank you! Well I tend to wear flat shoes anyway, I think the first 3 to 6 months the foot will still be slightly swollen and healing so I'll probably be wearing trainers for that time anyway. I'm just grateful I wont be in pain after walking for a while and it'll be easier to find shoes to wear now it's thinner!
