I was very happy to find that common table salt in a warm bath cured my Scabies. After soaking for 15 minutes, get out of the bath and drip dry. Do not use a towel, but if you must, just pat dry with kitchen towels as they are more hygenic. If needed, repeat after 4 days.
I feel this treatment should be made public, as it is free of harmful poisons associated with common cures prescribed by the physician.
The salt will get into the mite holes to kill the eggs, and also kill the mites on the surface almost instantly.
This is something all families have readily available in the kitchen, and is very simple to use.
Make sure all bedding is washed in at least 50 degrees, and clothing is changed and washed as hot as possible.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!! No offense lord, but the salt bath works and it works fast! I have been dealing with this for the last two and half months. I have spent $100's on medications, cremes, doctors who told me it was not scabies and every other trick in the book I could find. The last few things I used was Sulfur soap bars(3%) and the Sulfur Creme(10%) and Tea Tree Oil(100%) and Tea Tree Oil Body Oil(3%). I even found over the counter products that were the EXACT same thing you would get from the doctor, at a fraction of the price. Sorry about type-o's or misspelling, I'm going to write this quick.
The Sulfur Creme was too hard to put on and would dry up to quickly. If I put it on a fresh bite it would stop the might at that spot. The Sulfur Soaps was helpful, but it does not work quick enough. Since it can't get to the eggs, you can't keep it from spreading back to your cloths. As such you get stuck in a never ending cycle. I did learn something about how these mites work using the soap. I will touch back on that.
As soon as I saw all the post on this site that shared how salt helped, I went straight to the store. After all it was nighttime and we all know they are the worst at night. I have not sleep in 4 days! Every time I would try to go to sleep the itching got 10 times worst. Normally right now, at 12:30 AM, I would be in the crazy state. Taking 4-5 showers during the night trying to make the itching stop. Anyway I bought a 8lb bag of epson salt. Tossed my bedding in the dryer and started the bath and made the water as hot as I could stand it. Then I added 4lbs of salt and a few drops of Tea Tree Oil (for good luck 😃. Sea water had nothing on my bath tub. I got in the bath and used the Sulfur around the top of my neck and around my ears, they were not going to make a run for my face. After I was in the water for about 3-4 minutes I started feeling what felt like small needle picks. Little tiny red dots started showing up around my body. It was there little burrows! They were coming out of me and I was shocked to see how many there were. If you looked real close every now and then you could actually see what looked like a tiny little dot come out of the red spots. My wife and I were watching in amazement. I had the bag of epson next to the bath. I started grabbing small hand fulls of it and rubbing it direct on areas of my skin. You can feel it working. With my wife's help I rubbed salt over every part of my skin. Here's the kicker, using the Sulfur soap I was washing my entire body, but concentrating on the parts that felt the worst. Elbows, wrist, hands, back of neck. I was so wrong!!! The they were mainly in my upper stomach and my chest, places that I have never found a bite mark or itched. They were hiding on my body like Navy Seals! When I got out of the bath I did not dry off, I dripped dried. That will make you itch a little, but you will laugh at it. It's nothing compared to what you use to feel. After about ten minutes the light itching stopped as my skin dried and I felt GREAT. I hope this helps people and I will share a few more things. While your dealing with, keep a spray bottle of water and just a few drops Tea Tree oil. Use it to spray common areas chairs, bedding and what not. I really do think they hate that stuff. As far as Benadryl I would avoid using it during the day if you don't have to. Your body goes through different states during the day. Going from awake to falling asleep your body stops producing antihistamines and increases the production of histamines. That's is why it is so much worst at night or whenever you would normally sleep.I hope this helps someone, I am going to sleep good tonight and repeat this process for a few days.

Hi everyone.
I've had scabies 4 times in my life. Those little jerks love me.
I'm testing the salt water theory, but I'm not sure if it really will dry them out.
However, I am fairly certain that Nair does a number on them.
When you think about it, it makes sense. hair follicles and the exoskeleton of mites are similar materials. Nair is also designed to get below the skin.
I just came home with a tiny bite on my butt, and I'm pulling all the tricks just in case this is scabies again. I'm nipping this one in the bud.

A hot bath with lavender & chamomile (or just about any essential oil infused) bath liquid soap (Find: Rite-Aid), Distilled White Vinegar, and Sulfur with Lanolin Soap (Find: CVS, Food4Less) rubbed in all over body in affected area and left on for 30 mins each section, while soaked the rest of the body until all body has the soap for 30 mins. Then let the soap on body spread into bath water and soak for however longer you want. I did 10-30 more minutes. that helped me for the bath treatment. Make sure to put your hair to sit in the bath as well for 20-30 mins min. Use a shampoo with lavender or tee tree before. you can always condition the dryness away after. I tried the salt bath; and, although it felt effective, it really drained me and made me feel unhealthy afterward. Almost a similar effect of having drank a lot of salt water. I don't swim and the ocean, so my body was not used to it and the effect felt unhealthy. I do think it is a possibly a useful idea to try once and kind of the poster to share that. that led to learning so much as well from the comments.
I am cure after a serious case of foot to knees, stomach neck, and area covered in these. it was my first time. I got it while I believe doing home-care at someone's at sick people's homes through a medical company. I no longer do that due to the risk. This is what I did:
I believe what ultimately cured me was 1 treatment of Permethrin creme in an area isolated from my home. I was lucky enough to escape my home to my mom's house and stay at a spare room that was my old room. no one had been there in days and it was cleaned but I relearned it. I took 3 clothing articles, 2 pairs of shoes, 3 pairs of undergarments and socks, bought new toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, and the next day walked to the store to buy groceries to live on. I avoided my car and self-fumigated it twice within 2 1/2weeks- upon leaving it and after 14 days.
1.) I was kindly given a month for work, but honestly I would just quit the job to deal with this if you are honest and your employers do not understand. And do your best to look for another job in the process of healing. Let me advice you that if it is a serious case, you will want to shoot yourself, especially from the helplessness of actually feeling these predators biting you and eating you away. but don't, you can heal. Just take the time off and find a space or seek help to heal before it gets worse. to separate yourself and take care of the ones in your body with at least 2 Permtherin 5% treatments is the only true way. so before bringing in my living supplies to my moms home, I washed them in hot water, used lysol disenfectant washing liquid, and heated dried the clothes for 40 mins, put in double plastic bags and ripped one bag off while arriving into my moms house, disposing in another bag and taking out to the trash. I removed the clean clothe I was wearing and put those in a bag to wash immediately. Showered, did 1st permethrin 5% treatment and slept in the nude, which you have to do, with a blanket over to cover. Eucalyptus, Tee Tree Oil, Neem Oil aromatherapy in the room help. clean all environment daily with half water half hydrogen peroxide spray, including bed without sheets. Wash sheets every 2 days or every day whatever you feel is best for you.
2.) Next day after 14 hours shower the treatment off. I used, believe was helpful, a combination of Vitamin E creme (Find: CVS, Food4Less, Others), Aloe Vera Creme, Coconut Oil Creme, Tee Tree Oil Drops A hint or however much white vinegar you are okay with and mix together (Fond: CVS, Rite-Aid, Others, did not find comparably good products at Target so I dont reccomend for these, or check pharmacy area). Put this lotion on your body as daily treatment after bath. if you do vinegar bath this well set right in well. put this lotion on your face, neck, and outside ear area as well. It will probably give you a few pimples, but scabies can get in your face. remember to use sulfur soap on your face whenever you want to wash it.
3. Before bed, or anytime you are able to rest and relax, which should be the whole day I reccomend to drink aloe vera tea, chamomile and mint taste good and help sooth you if you want to mix that in.
4. For food eat bread and grains because it has an insect killing powder in it to sustain it, so it will help internally. make yourself some warm soup to go with your bread just to soothe you, it does not hurt. And toss a significant portion or splashes of cayanne pepper in your soup or in anything that you eat. cayanne pepper helps fight them. You can also make a salad and through some cayanne and vinegar in there. Although, I did not try this, I have a feeling that lemon in the food, DIY mousiterizer treatment (sub vinegar), and in the bath can help as well, because lemon and salt used together can kill bacteria in lots of meats, which I used to do the clean it when I used to eat meat. Cook your pasta with garlic. and of course drink plenty of water.
5. in your cleaning supplies and self-care, it very important to never mix hydrogen peroxide and vinegar, smells horrible and is completely flammable!
6. Repeat every single day. clean every single day.
7. By day 10, everything almost went away. And this was only after 1 Permethrin 5% treatment. I think the steps above did help. by day, although you can do this on day 10 I bathed and did my 2nd Permethrin 5% treatment. By the 13th day they were all gone. I felt no little bites, not even at night time when they come out. Keep a lamp on during the night time if you can, a though the light/energy bill might increase. Make sure to walk to the grocery if you need anything, only go to nearby places, stay away from public places and other people, disenfect all things you use and touch, clean daily with hydrogen peroxide diluted and vacuum after and spray a 2nd time and let it distribute and set it, including you bed and bed frame and any sitting area in your room, wash your sheets, pillow, and cases, and clothes, and shoes in washer. Always wear socks and shoes if going anywhere other than room. clean your restroom and pre-clean bath tub before using daily. I disinfected with lysol bathroom disinfectant foaming spray (blue bottle).
8. after 15 days, Cleaned inside of car and disenfected every part I site, took to a self carwash, use bug repellant wash from the car wash drive-in, and vacuumed with super vaccum setting from car wash. tries to disenfect their vacuum before letting it in my car. Then drove back to my moms home and car was set.
9. When you return home, are clean everything, disenfect, vacuum, use a few clothing articles as possible and a few shoes. Cautiously rewash and start using old items throughout weeks span and reclean before use. o did not but Iwould self-fumigate your home and close any barriers that could be letting insects in, invest in some window screens. Clean and disenfect all home and daily disenfect outside of room and keep towels under your door or any cracks like in a closet with hydrogen peroxide and such, the home is very clean however and I think I had caugh this at another home. They died out by the 14 days. The problem does goes away. Just stay cautious and clean. You can always move if you can and purchase fumigation before doing so.
10.It's been 4 weeks and I do think I am completely healed. The doc says everything looks good. I am still schedule for a scraping later to see if they can scrape a former area and see if they can find what certainly was the root cause. The doc agreed it was likely scabies. I may or may not be able to find out, but at least I completely feel that I fought them before they repopulated. I am very analytical and rarely satisfied until I feel that I am certain of something. I can tell you that I am certain that I no longer have them. I hope and would like to help you with my experience so hopefully you do as well heal fully! Best Wishes and so much respect for fighting and staying alive through this!

to clarify the: lavender & chamomile (or just about any essential oil infused) bath liquid soap and Distilled White Vinegar go together into the hot bath. Then, after placing the Sulfur Soap on body and face using the same bath water to dissolve the soap into the body for 30 mins and tee tree or lavender shampoo in hair, Then, you let the sulfur and shampoo also join the bath water and soak in the mixture of all four for however long you like or deem fit. I reccomend 30 mins, no less than 10, no more than 40 or an hour.

The problem with Scabies is that its hard to kill them only on top of the skin with topical applications or only subcutaneous (below the skin) applications, as they can move to avoid eradication and you can't see them. Plus, you cant leave Permethrin on long term. With that in mind, the solution i came up with cured my problem after 2 long years. I took ivermectin from horse paste to combat them internally, while at the same time, I mixed 50% olive oil and 50% tea tree oil...and applied it all over my body every 12 hours (unlike Permethrin, you can use it long term). I also bought MANU products from Australia to wash with (don't know if that did the trick or not), but it sure didn't hurt. After about 2 weeks i was clear.

One other important consideration...there was a study that found that scabies can hide from treatments under your nails and in your nail beds, so make sure you clear those areas with bleach.

How much salt in how much water please? And can I use sea salt I buy for cooking? I also have rock salt. Thank you! I've treated 2 1/2 times with permathrin - all the horrorible itching went away, but I got some bites on my face and some bumps (not itchy) on my scalp. Nurse consultant said to do another night of permathrin. I covered as much as I could of my scalp and face, ears, etc this time. I got a few tiny bites for the first time between my fingers. Held them under extremely hot water in and out and "I think they are done in". Don't know. But I feel as if a few bumps are new and fear getting it all over again. Would like to try the salt bath this night if you or anyone else can tell me the amounts. Really appreciate it, my fellow sufferers. Best to you all!

Hi Lorena,
You'll need a fairly strong solution of salt water. Ordinary cooking salt is best. I spent about half an hour in a hot bath and continued to rub salt deep into the affected parts. It does sting but only a little bit and it's a pleasurable sting because you know that it's doing the job of killing the little demons!
Even after I had finished I stood up and rubbed more salt all over myself and left it for 15 minutes before returning to the bath to wash it off.
One last thing; don't towel-dry yourself. Just allow yourself to dry naturally.
You should feel the relief immediately. It may take a few nights of repeating this just to make sure and it's also really important to make sure that all clothing and bedding is washed thoroughly too.
I really hope that this will put an end to your misery. It was one of the worst periods of my life.
Good luck!
Martin

Thank you, Martin. I used 26 oz in a tub a bit over half full. Had to look up "salt baths" on line because I wanted to do this last night. I don't know if that's the amount you used, or even how to calculate, but that's all I could find. Most bites/mites had been overcome when I bathed, but I had a few new ones, not many. Thought to try the salt bath. Only concern: will they return? Scary thought!

Epson salt, get the water as hot as you can stand it. Don't feel shy to use too much salt. I cannot tell you how quickly it worked for me. I think I used almost 3 LBS of salt, LOL, but it worked. Don't forget the Tea Tree oil. Rub the salt directly in your hair. Scrub your body with it. Consider it the "bath of baths".

Thanks, Jeff. I'm broke - used my poor scant income to wash/dry on high heat for days, purchase a new sm. mattress for floor sleeping (threw out the last one because the material didn't lend itself to proper de-bugging, and lost money from private classes (I teach at home) because I had to cancel them to make sure I wouldn't share the mites. When some income happens, I'll try the epson salts and tea tree oil if the buggers show signs of return. Peace of mind is on hold.

I live in Mexico part time and scabies is common here and easily contracted. I neither have a dryer nor bathtub here as I do back home. It takes a bit longer without a bathtub and especially without a dryer to get rid of the mites but here is what I did:
I got dust mite/bedbug proof mattress protectors for all my beds. The total zippered encasement would be best but they were too expensive here so I just got the cover type.
I washed my used bed linens and clothes and let them line dry in the sun. A friend ironed all her linens/clothes on the highest setting but that sounded like too much work.
The mites starve/dehydrate to death after 3 days of not having access to human blood so I just put all my clothes in the guest bedroom and kept the door closed. Alternatively, you can sleep in the guest bedroom and avoid the main bedroom for at least 3 days to de-mite it and any warn clothing. And then repeat for the guest bed once you're itch free.
The mites also dehydrate and die when exposed to salt, so I made a table salt paste (I blended salt in blender then added a few drops of water or hydrogen peroxide). I put the paste on all areas that were itchy and every time they itched. Even when I was out. I continued applying for about 1 week until I was completely itch free.
That's it! I didn't do anything to the rest of the house other than avoid the couch and other upholstered items and swept and washed the floors once. You should vacuum carpets, if you have them too.
