I was very happy to find that common table salt in a warm bath cured my Scabies. After soaking for 15 minutes, get out of the bath and drip dry. Do not use a towel, but if you must, just pat dry with kitchen towels as they are more hygenic. If needed, repeat after 4 days.

I feel this treatment should be made public, as it is free of harmful poisons associated with common cures prescribed by the physician.

The salt will get into the mite holes to kill the eggs, and also kill the mites on the surface almost instantly.

This is something all families have readily available in the kitchen, and is very simple to use.

Make sure all bedding is washed in at least 50 degrees, and clothing is changed and washed as hot as possible.

Thanks, Geri. I lived in Mexico in the subtropics for 20 years and saw creepy crawly things the likes of which few in the U.S. can imagine.... Never a problem. We seemed to respect our mutual territories. It had to be California, my native state, that gave me the scabies. Funny, huh! The mystery is that Icannot fathom where they came from! I am only with other people - ever - when I tutor at a little private school for kids, but never touch them....only the tables and their workbooks. Scary to imagine where I may have gotten them. Anyway...I "seem to be" cured now, but I will continue with the salt applications and I'm most grateful for this information.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for this form, after battling and trying everything and I MEAN just about everything suggested from permethrin ,Ivercetim, apple cider, tea tree oil ,sulfur, vinegar, rounds of treatments even BLEACH which I know is very toxic for the skin. I finally stumbled upon this form after running out of medicine still getting bit and miserable. Who knew along with the sulfur soap ,eposm salt and a hint of bleach *basic salt combined with a nice hot bath is doing the job !! Tracking my progress again Thank you. God speed to those suffering this plague never knew you could pick this up from going to work on the bus , but I did and let me just say it's been HELL! Finally Some Relief is Here!!!

In no way is this medical advice , I can post pictures of what I combined to work. But also note I went through rounds of permethrin and one dose of ivermectin and still was getting bit till I discovered this post and found salt helps a lot.

Your more than welcome to try and see if this will help. I can't say this combination is the best for the skin or if it would be harmful later , but I was in dying need of a solution I am not a licensed or anything of that sort. At your own risk and please do not use this on children .

I ve been trying everything and I still can feel them crawling on my skin and biting me here and there. I could feel them on my face around my eyes and I am really afraid. I am a student and currently I live in a student studio in Europe. Therefore, I do not have a bath tube. So what can I do ? Is it OK to mix salt with water and rub it on my skin?

I've been trying everything (multiple application of Lindan, Permethrin, Sulfure Soap, Tea tree oil, Ivermactin, Alchohol/Apple Vineger, Bleach ) on my skin and I still can feel them crawling on my skin and biting me here and there. I could feel them on my face around my eyes and I am really afraid. I caught these evil mites around 6 month ago in a trip to Paris. Not only me, but also I infected my parents and my aunt on my visit to their houses. I am a student and currently I live in a student studio. Therefore, I do not have a bath tube. So what can I do ? Is it OK to mix salt with water and rub it on my skin?

if the onset began 6 months ago, by now they are deep into your skin and vastly repopulated. Nothing will work at this point to kill them off, including their eggs, other than getting a presciption for Permethrin 5% and Ivermecetin oral medicine to make sure they do not stay alive and repopulate in your body. You should also get a scrape test so that you can diagnose them appropriately instead of waiting to see if the medication worked effectively. The only way it will work is if you have the right diagnosis otherwise they will resurface. However you don't need a skin scrape for the prescriptions. you will have to return for a second and third refill/ new dose of the prescriptions since you must re-treat yourself every 14 days. It's 3 step process.

Just realized that you said that you did do this process. Make sure that you do it 3 times 14 days apart. Epson salt bath for 15 minutes is good for you. Rubbing it on your skin may help with opening the skin pathways to allow the medicine to better reach the mites. You may want to see a particular type of doctor such as an internist or an infectious disease doctor for help.

A general pratitioner diagnosed me with scabies then I did the medication and after it did not work out he introduced me to two dermothologists to consult my situation . but they said that they do not see anything! after that I ve been to many dermothologists. they all told me that they can not see anything on my skin related to scabies. but in between I went to my parents houses and they got this from me.how is this possible if there is nothing there on my skin!!!!!!

are u sure an infectious disease doctor could help me? I would do anything to get back to normal life and help my parents to get rid of this evil thing.

I replied to your message but it says that it's being moderated. Honestly I highly suggest that you take a medical leave from school. Your studies can wait. A medical leave should not affect your grades or funding. This in the American gov't is considered a disabling disease and therefore wouldn't affect the student in a medical leave. Get a doctor's not and take semester. 😃 I just noticed that you said that you were student and the bath-tub situation. Sorry was just working earlier. I hope my message gets moderated soon, whatever that means. If not leave me your e-mail. But yea an infectious disease doctors who can send blood and body tissue or skin to a Pathologist might do the trick. Pathologist prose themselves on finding and researching the reasons for diseases. I left some links on my others comment, that is why I think it is getting moderated. You can and I believe that you will get through this, best of luck!

Here is the message without the links. I know that you have taken all of the correct precautions. I just covered that because I felt that it was important so that you know that you and your family have to remove yourself from your home or an area of your home where another area is left clear for 18 days. Then you inhabit the cleared area after the 18 days have passed and began treatment. You need to be in a clean, cleared, scabie-free zone. If you are returning daily or weekly to your college home (suite, dorm, studio) you are constantly reinventing yourself. You have to take full precautions if you have not yet. Some people deal with this for all of their lives, you don't have to. You can get passed it in no more than 2 months with the correct precautions. I covered here how in my country, I know that you are in Europe, but in America the gov't gives assistant fund and food Funds for persons suffering a debilitating disease and this does constitute as one. All of your family members can apply, you can just apply as an independant person. I'm not sure if Europe has this, but I doubt that they wouldn't. There is no shame in it, it is nice to know that there is help out there. It is better for you to stop working and going to school not only for your recovery but to also not recontaminate yourself and contaminate others. You and your family can get through this. It does end with all of the right precautions. The most important is staying away from a contaminated place.

How does the itching feel? Does the itching feel on the surface of your skin or does it feel like needle-like bites that are deep or are going deep inside your body's anatomy? The deep needle-like bites are how scabies feel. If you do feel this then you may not be taking all the precautions measure to fully cure yourself as well your family members doing the same. It's tough, but it is better to do what you need to do to cure and prevent spreading to others. That is how people also can reinfection themselves. The correct precautions may be tough but it would be to completely remove yourself from your home: During the treatment process, you need to completely get away from your home for at least for 18 days- that is 14 days for the eggs hatching and 4 days for their life span to end. If you take anything with you spray it with tea tree Oil, neem oil, lemongrass, and eucalyptus oil mix with water. Wash and heat dry whatever clothes you are going to take. Put items in double Bags and wear plastic gloves. Once you reach your new location throw away the first bag and your gloves. Spray the bag, your hands, and yourself with the mix. Whatever is directly on you should die in for hours. You should avoid your cars throughout this time as well because cars can get highly contaminated. Mine did when I had scabies. It was horrific experience, but it can cure. Just take all of the precautions that you must. Take out a loan if you need to to get through this! If you would like to be extra safe you should treat 3 times meaning in a span of 36 days. That is the initial treatment and the treatment after 18 days then a third treatment after another 18 days to be safe of any that could have avoided you/ escaped and hung around during your treatment day. So that is a total of 36 days. If the treatment works for you and your family than bu then you should feel cured or at least mostly cured. If it does not than either your bodies are all resistant to the treatment or you all have caught a different contageous disease. You and your family will also want to heal properly so don't contaminate any others further because this may result in contaminating co-workers which may recontaminate you, whatever the disease. You can apply for government funding which assists any person facing a debilitating disease that prevents you from working. I did and it helped very much. I am proud that their is help out there and there is no shame in it. However I think you should try to research itching diseases and contagious diseases. You may find something that fits and see if you can get a diagnosis for that. I've attached some links below. If you decide to follow through with avoiding your home for scabies treatment, don't go to a hotel as hotels usually carry bugs and diseases. A better choice would be rented space or house where you can avoid the space for the first 4 days in case scabies are already present in the space. Once you are ready to leave possibly leave 4 extra days for the owner to avoid the property or even 18 days since you may have left some eggs. If you treated for 36 then you may likely not need to do this at all, however it is just a precaution for others. It is worth your life and the life of others. I did it for 2 months- 36 days and rested the following weeks. I left my job and was broke shortly after but eventually I healed and got right back up. I used a spare room of a family member and avoided their home at all costs, just left the room to go buy food at restaurant to avoid their kitchen. It worked out and half a year layer everyone is fine today. That is just my advice from my personal experience. Check if your physical symptoms do look like the photos of scabies, of they do then you certainly have scabies! They may just have got skin scrapes of areas where there weren't any at the moment.

On the other hand it may not be scabies, it may be another contagious disease. Many contagious diseases are treated with antibiotics, you may want to ask for a prescription to see if it helps. Firstly, you do have a serious condition. It is not in your mind, you just have to rest and recuperate yourself to solve it. Take the initiative and research. You may feel like wanting to give up like I felt at a point, but don't. Just imagine it was gone, well that can be possible. So just keep trying by researching the proper diagnosis behind it or/ and taking the fully proper scabies precaution by removing yourself from your home. They die without human prescense in 4 days and take 14 days to hatch- a total of 18 days.

My take is that it could be a type of bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infection that is contagious. Such as threatdworm can be used as an example. It causes itching and can be contracted by mouth and physical items such as clothing and bedding from a person carrying the disease to another person that is not. Travel is a way that most people contract disease. Paris is a city where people from various countries go to. So researching contagious diseases or itching diseases may be a good way to find the proper diagnosis.

Here's a some links related to lists of contagious diseases and itching diseases:

      and

Once you have researched what you feel may be more closer related to your symptoms consider getting alleviating medication and hopefully a diagnosis.

These physicians may be better equipped at helping you, but I am not completely certain. I think that an infectious disease doctor should know significantly about contagious diseases and may not be afraid of them such as other doctors, so you may want to consider him or her. Or get a infectious disease doctor who can send some of your body tissue, skin, and fluids to a pathologist for research. That is what pathologists do and love to do. So they may be able to help as well of they are okay and familiar with contagious diseases. I believe that you can and will figure this out. just take the proper precautions!

      Infectious Disease Specialists

"They diagnose and treat infections in any part of your body, like fevers, Lyme disease, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and HIV and AIDS. Some of them specialize in preventive medicine or travel medicine."

      Pathologists

"These lab doctors identify the causes of diseases by examining body tissues and fluids under microscopes."

      Internists

"These primary-care doctors treat both common and complex illnesses, usually only in adults. You’ll likely visit them or your family doctor first for any condition. Internists often have advanced training in a host of subspecialties, like heart disease, cancer, or adolescent or sleep medicine."

You know the point is that I do not itch at all !!!! Since I got back from Paris I showed some eczema like rashes on my hands and ears and I went to the doctors and they prescribed me strong Cortizone creams and anti histamines and I should say around 3 month ago my itching stopped compeletly. Even though I still have some eczema like bruses. The point is that I really can not live any where else ! Either I just can goto the hotels which I Do Not Trust at all! I am not a european citizen. Actually I am from Turkey and my county is far away from here and I cant take any time off coz I am a phd student and I just started my Phd. I cant just go off. What I do is I bought a vaccume cleaner and I vaccume everything including my bed and the floot everynight. I do not have any carpet it is plane rock on the floor. All I could do is to wash the walls and the floor with bleach this weekend. Some thing that I figured out is that thismite whatever itis it has sting. the real one and at some points I could feel it in my body. Even Once I could feel it onmy palm while I was out and when I saw my palm carefully I could see something like a very tiny piece of glass that is penetrated in my skin and it was shining in front of the sun shine. Also what I did was I used alcochol venigar the other night and I since I do not have a bath tube and I am sting inmu bathroom I could feel like all of them was gathering around my legs and feet. and actually the vinegar was drivinig them crazy. there were moving carzily. I could feel the crawling but not themselves. And Something soi f****d up is that they can scratch my skin! So I just touched my leg last night and One of them scratched my hand. The same thing happen to me couple of times. I felt something is crawling on one of my fingers and then when I checked my finger, There was a big scratch my on my skin where I felt crawling! I am really really scared. I went to at least 5 dermothologists and 2 general doctors. None of them approved of scabies only one perscribed me ivermachtin + Permethrin which was useless! Tonight I wan to try teh vinegar again and then when I feel them crawling on my legs I will spray bleach . I hope the bleach kill them or make them fall off my legs 😦(((

My case is similar like yours. I have some pimples scattered on body. They are usually in a pattern of two an inch apart. Some scratches also appear. They are very thin, 1-2 inch long and look like as if the skin is torn by a sharp needle. Doctors say I have scratched myself but I have not. I am not itchy only a little when pimples appear. Crawling and biting sensation is my greatest issue. I have visited a LOT of doctors dermathologists more than 10 and they all said it is not scabies. I was prescribed corticosteroids and antihistamines. Useless. I decided that I have scabies and treated myself several times with Permethrin 5% , Benzyle benzoate 30%, Sulphur ointment 30%. I even thought I would poison myself. I followed the treatment protocols. I washed, cleaned, ironed. However crawling sensation would return 2-3 days after each treatment. This situation lasts for 10 months already. Nobody has contracted this from me till now. Do you think this may be not scabies? I bought a 16x magnifying glass but have not seen anything on my skin.

Well my case is a little bit different in that 3 ppl cuaght that from me so far. my mother, father and my aunt. Actually right now I am using tea tree oil + olive oil + clove oil. I mix them together and rub them every night on my skin every where including my hair. during the day when I am going to university since I do not wanna look greasy I mix tea tree + clove in mosturising csream and again rub it from my head to toe. to be honest these help with crawling sensation and also biting. They will not go away but they are less. actually I am using few drops like 6 spoon of olive oil + 20 drops of tea tree and 10 drops of clove oil. coz the Bio ones are a bit expensive in europe. Right now I am going to the pharmecy to buy 100 ml to put on more on my body at once. I will keep u up to date. I found out small black dots on my screen some times when I feel crawling specially on my hands. though I am not really sure what it might be. My friends want to go to this trip around the europe in 1 month and I really want to be in a good shape by then . so I will try my best. I talked with one of friends who is a dermothologist she said for crusted scabies what we presribe is 10 percent sulfur in vaseline they have to put it on for 4 nights. so I am going to buy sulfur from amazon and today and I will try that for a week on my body from 7 pm to 8 am. since it has smell I have to wash it off and go to work. I really look forward for these remedies to fix me. Something I notticed is that my studio is infested so I need to buy permethrin and scater it all over my room floor for some days. before starting sulfur treatment.

I just figures out something today. That my desk that I am using every day on which there is my monitors , keyboard and mouse, keeps me infested. like today I felt really great. I am using tea tree oil and I've had very less crawling and biting sensation so far but this morning after 5 minutes of starting for work I could feel something is crawling on my fingers and scratch my skin again. Could you please help me to deal with my desk ? What should I do ? Spray Olive oil + Tea tree oil to my desk ?

I also have an office mate. I am not sure if he feels comfortable with the smell .

      😦((.
