3 weeks since t k r surgery on left knee, Has any one felt the out side of the knee that has been operated on feels numb.Still wake up during night with terrible pain in knee

    Hi Ian, I am 8 weeks post op, 2 TKR for me, the numbness is normal, I have it, some may never go away according to my specialist but should get better. Sleeping is the biggest problem of all, I take 2  5mg Endone at night and use an anti inflammitory cream on my legs but still get very little sleep, because we are not moving in bed the knees tend to seize up hence the pain, its helpful to do a few excersizes in bed before getting up too, makes those first few steps easier.

    hi ian37450 3 weeks is still a very short time for a tkr and yes i also have the numbness it is because a nerve was cut on incision mine is still numb after a year the terrable pain is normal you had a terrable operation so ice it elevate and painmeds do not overdo physio if it hurts stop and rest after month to 6 weekks it start to heal better and i am going for my 2nd one on 7 november then it will be wow i can walk with out pain or assistance just stick it out regards danie south africa
