IBS & constant tiredness/brain fog

Hi, I am new to this! I have recently been diagnosed with IBS after 2 1/2 years of chronic pelvic pain. Have got large adhesion on my omentum (large flap of tissue covering bowel). I am due to see an IBS specialist nurse next month. I am trying to eat gluten/wheat/lactose free. I would like to know if anyone else feels constantly tired and like functioning on autopilot? I am so tired i can easily go to bed at 7pm and altho i dont go to sleep immediately....i feel better for being laid down. Is this normal? I work part time and have 3 kids and i am in bed before they are! Thank you x

it it tookme a couple of years to eat foods without some seriois reactions after my galblaer removed. I was only 19 yrs old with gallstones in my bile duct stopping the flow. Once it was removed we lack the enzimes the galbladder produces in order to help with breaking down the foods we eat. For almost 5 years I was in agony very cognacent of making sure I have a balance of stomach enzymes/ probiotics. Always eat yogurt 2 -3 times a day. Never could eat any greasy fried foods and many foods with skins like peas and fruits. Lettuce , corn and cabbage. Just some of the irritating foods.
eggs were a biggie every time..I discovered if coating my stomach with milk or bread / crackers before eating them helped. Eating certain foods on a empty stomach can cause extreme cramping. If my stomach is coated & a slight bit of food on my stomach is all I neded to stave off cramps. It all takes time to identify what food cause reactions. I would suggest a journal. it is very helpful. Sugars and fruits also connect to my skin allergies . Alcohol another biggie for me.
Another Example of food journals . I am allergic to latex( latex gloves) cannot eat fruits in the same family. Cantaloupe & the atex tree is in the same family and I cannot touch dandelions same family too. Knowing little things can make the difference. It's that milky sap in dandelions that is so reactive in my system.
Keeping a journal and keep track of food cousins in the same family yet may not seem to know they are related may surprise u how they can effec u tummy IBS CAN REALLY be put into remission by not eating all the foods that u have found create issues for u and UR tummy!
Some have celiac disease wheat and white flowers white sugars here a list of foods on the IBS WEB SITE THAT can help get u started with a food journal an feeling better. I just hate feeling that bad with IBS if u just take out junk and fried foods from UR diet a at first & I quarantee in just a few days u will feel 100% better. So just imagine finding all the foods that u could eliminate from UR diet to be free from IBS & put it into remission. No more dibilitating cramps. I have found my foods and diet pluses with adding additives to my food as well as finding remission.. Mostly thru eating whole foods no pre packaged or prepared foods.. Frozen dinners or fast foods. In most of those are the chemical preservatives and dyes and fillers that cause havoc with IBS.
GOOD LUCK

E. Feel better soon.. This has its good days and tricky ones. Once u learn the foods to avoid and if UR doc prescribes a muscles relaxant for UR tummy muscles spasms u will do soo much better. ALSO a food Joirnal is veyy helpful..and for those tummy cramps hot tea is always helpful..

what you take in is key...however there are some snags on the way...have you been eating raw broccoli, cabbage, kale...or any of the 'cruciferous' veg?

don't wait to see some one else...become your own resource!
but take care...the cruciferous veg can lower thyroid levels (...see The Paleo Mom for info re supplements...its ok to eat those cruciferous greens in presence of selenium, watch your iodine, iron and zinc levels too!) this is a useful strategy for those with hyperthyroidism ...i am so sorry you had some of your thyroid removed HOWEVER that is where you are now...and your levels were stablised..the root cause of the condition will not have changed however and you can learn to read yourself...especially with reg blood tests. asking for a copy of your results can really help you to understand!
check out Isabella wentz...the thyroid pharmacist also. lots of resources these days...please will you share YOUR discoveries....GOOD LUCK! Speak soon x

Some people react to chia seeds but in your case you don't feel ANY response you were saying? Maybe give it a bit longer ...dietary adjustments are subtle and take awhile to have an effect. You don't feel worse?
You seem really quite upbeat! Perhaps with good nutrition ...energy will creep up on you! You might enjoy cooking with coconut oil...don't touch those industrial seed oils....lovely lettuce with extra virgin olive oil and organic cyder vinegar in a jar and also grated carrot salads are great...also satisfying things like organic meat..must be organic ...you can eat the fat of the meat then...but chuck it if not organic as thats where the toxins get stored.
Got some de-tox tea? I've just bought a packet so I'll keep you company...thinking of you. love marey x
