IBS fainting from pain

I'm new to this so not sure really how works. I have suffered from ibs the past 5 years I'm 24 years old. On multiple occasions I have had a so called attack from it during night. I have been rushed to hospital on a few as The pain is floor dropping I have fainted during all of these I gashed my head at one and scaring family a lot when happens as I turn pure white and eyes role. Is this normal for pain to be so survere it knocks me out. Hospital every time have sent me home after a couple days in saying I'll be fine. I don't feel I will be. It happened again last night but this time I didn't pass out as wrapped myself in cold damp towel but was up all night in agony. Really I think I'm looking for reassurance I'm not alone ?.

You need to get sorted out via a gastro enterologist. Don't take no for an answer.

Sorry Maria meant to ask you if the hospital had done any tests such as a scan or colonoscopy or gastroscopy?

Have u had any looseness or any blood , mucus in your stools .

    What colour are they?

Have stool specimens been sent off for parasitology etc? Have yu had any medications that trigger off these episodes or any foodstuffs attacks? Have u been checked for gluten, wheat, soy, corn yeast cows milk dairy intolerances at all are u in the UK?.

Hi Jane, yes so back in August was one of the one times it hit I was passing blood so went to a&e I had blood tests, ct scans, X-rays, stool samples were also taken. Basically after 4 days in hospital I was told everything was clear and was good to go. I pushed them for answers about what I can do n was literally told nothing .. I hate being made feel nothing is wrong when really is

IBS pain can make me feel sick if I get a bad flare up.  I have never heard of any one fainting because of it.  However. everyone's IBS and pain response is different. Sometimes, IBS pain can feel like period pain which can make people faint.  In the past period cramps have made me feel as if I was going to pass out although I have never done so. If a cold towel stops the fainting, I would continue doing this. I use Buscopan and Ibruprofen if the pain is bad and it works for me.  You could also go back to your doctor and ask for strong pain medication.

My IBS began just before my period started so I assumed the stomach pain was hormonal.  The IBS pain used to combine with the period so I found it hard to control.  However, when the period finished, the pain was still there so I realised it had to be something else and went to to the doctors who eventually diagnosed  IBS after three and a half months.

I have always been told it's ibs had tests done the last time I went to hospital in August and was told the same had all the tests done ct scans X-rays the lot and was sent home after 4 days told I'll be fine until happens again and again 😩 Ibs I don't feel is taken as seriously as it needs to be

Yes I was "always been told it's ibs had tests done" too, for years, but it turned out I had big blood clots in my aorta and intermittently the arteries feeding my intestines, my heart wasn't in great shape either. I was a near skeleton before the gastro bod had the brainwave that it was all actually heart related.

      True story cheesygrin

Have you ever tried having the depo contraceptive injection. Mine was that bad but since having that my symptoms have decreased to manageable pain. A lot of ibs in women can be hormonal related.

You definite need a profesional in GI track to consult. A second opinion is needed urgently. Do not wait till it becomes worse. Also sort out your diet. Ask for colofac which helps with IBS. Good luck

Yeah I have tried so much. Anytime I go to my gp he tells me the same thing I'm not really getting help the hospital say ibs but give me no as such home care, the last time I was admitted in hospital the doctors and test results gave me nothing either.
