IBS Stomach pain and tender stomach anybody?
Posted , 21 users are following.
Hi all!
I am new to this group,
it was around 7 months back when suddenly i got severe gas, burping and stomach pain, the stomach was tender to touch.
The pain continues till today, I get stomach pain mostly on top of belly button and left side and the entire area has point tenderness.
Stomach pain is irrespective of eating.
I have done all kinds of blood tests and upper GI endoscopy twice and ctscan.
Only thing that came up in endoscopy was Antral gastritis with hpylori negative.
But I wonder if gastritis can cause that much pain and tenderness.
My doctor says its a functional pain and can be IBS.
I feel so depressed and miserable to think about the pain staying forever.
Please reply if anybody experienced the same.
Thanks!

Have you tired Librax or the generic brand? It's been a miracle drug for me for 40 years. Give Librax a try.

Best discription via Google.
It's helped me for years. Lately I've had that usual dull ache at the lower left quardrant. Comes and goes. Sometimes left or right, after dinner all over the lower area. Depends on how much eaten. Heavy foods and overeating are not good. Lorazepam helps me too. It's the generic Ativan. Stress, weather conditions, foods, etc play a role in IBS symptoms.
Librax (chlordiazepoxide and clidinium bromide (generic) is a combination of a benzodiazepine and an anticholinergic/spasmolytic used to treat stomach ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, and intestinal infections. The brand name Librax is no longer available in the U.S. Generic versions may be available.

Did librax help with your stomach ache? I am taking Pantaloc and sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't. I find when it's bad its bad and sometimes it's good and I feel like I am over it then it hits again. I have a ache in my stomach and it radiates into my arm. Wondering if this drug would help me. Have you found any triggers? Any side effects with the drug?

Librax or the generic, relaxes the intestinal track and stomach. It's a dated drug, but it has been a Godsend to me for years with no side effects. Some information that may be helpful.
Two medications are currently approved for specific cases of IBS:
Alosetron (Lotronex). Alosetron is designed to relax the colon and slow the movement of waste through the lower bowel. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) removed it from the market for a time, but has since allowed alosetron to be sold again.
However, alosetron can be prescribed only by doctors enrolled in a special program and is intended for severe cases of diarrhea-predominant IBS in women who haven't responded to other treatments. Alosetron is not approved for use by men. It has been linked to rare but important side effects, so it should only be considered when other treatments are not successful.
Lubiprostone (Amitiza). Lubiprostone works by increasing fluid secretion in your small intestine to help with the passage of stool. It is approved for women age 18 and older who have IBS with constipation. Its effectiveness in men is not proved, nor its long-term safety. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain. Lubiprostone is generally prescribed only for women with IBS and severe constipation for whom other treatments haven't been successful.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Viberzi (eluxadoline) and Xifaxan (rifaximin), two new treatments, manufactured by two different companies, for irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D) in adult men and women.May 27, 2015.
Can't really say much more. Everyone is different i guess.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I have all the problems you've described, my stomach was so bloated I looked like I was 15 months pregnant, and I'm male. I noticed it more after drinking alcohol. So I stopped drinking, not one drop. After 7 months my stomach went flat again, I even got abbs!
I went on a holiday in march with 14 mates and drank again. And what do you know, the pain and bloating is all back again, I'm bloated up with all sorts of problems, I haven't drank now for a month and it's only slightly starting to settle down.
I think it takes about 5-6 months of not drinking alcohol or eating foods which you know winds up your stomach, before you will see good results.
I'll message here again after month 5-6 and post my results.
Oh and the GP can do nothing for you really in my opinion, since they can't control what we stick in our mouths.
I honestly think you have to quit alcohol completely and drink plenty of water before meals, and finally don't eat meals 3-4 hours before bed.
If you do this I promise things will improve, it did for me.

I've had IBS since 1968 and have tried multiple drugs from then until in 1977 when a doctor I was seeing recommended Librax (generic is Chloradiazepoxide Clindinim.) I swear by it. Pain in the pit of the stomach, gas, diarrhea, constipation, all the fun stuff associated with IBS. Everyone is different and symptoms may differ with each individual, the best thing is to ask your doctors if you could try Librax or generic or some new drug. Librax and the generic is not covered by most insurances and I pay 150 for 90 pills. I usually get half as I don't take it daliy, only when needed.

Currently in the er. Two weeks ago I started out with a pain under left rib which felt like gas pains. I was also constipated for about 3days (never been constipated before). Pain has been on and off but today I developed pain on both sides under ribs, sides of stomach, and around to my back. It almost feels like body aches from the flu. I've always had stomach problems like ulcers and bad reflux also had h-pylori before. Anyways currently waiting, doctors seem confused but did X-rays. So question is does this pain to the touch, feeling like body ache type flu, a symptom of ibs? It also hurts to stand a little feels like a burning prickling pain under my ribs.

Anyone have pain on the right side of their lower abdomen? My pain is very similar to what a lot are describing on the left side. Typically dull to moderate ache in the same spot, but it can radiate. Would get worse with certain foods, but lately eating anything makes it hurt. There are days when I'm pain free but they're getting less frequent. Definately seems to be worse if I have gas. I've had colonoscopy, 2 ultrasounds and a CT. CT found some minor thickening in colon wall but colonoscopy was clear. This has been going on for almost 18 months and usually not debillitating so I decided to quit driving myself crazy w/doctors and trying to figure out what it is and get on with my life. But would be reassuring to hear that some IBS sufferers experience symptoms on the right side.

For me, a combination of a few things... I was having milk in my coffee 6x a day. Plus cereal, had pain for years!
Now I just have black coffee, but I still have my breakfast with milk in the morning and that’s it.
But the biggest secret to my stomach pain going away was simply down to one thing......burping!
No matter what you eat, it creates gas. And it has to be let out, your body can have trapped gas which needs forced out!
Honestly we get told so many times it’s rude to burp so we stop doing it.
I have to press my stomach and burp at the same time.
I do this alone of course. But my belly has now gone from looking like I was 15 months pregnant to completely flat!
It’s took a while to get it all removed.
But I found a way.
It sounds crazy, but if you try your hardest to burp, push it out using your hands, you’ll find a pocket of trapped gas, and you’ll burp like a king.
Everyone wants to be told there’s something seriously wrong with them, but usually it’s something simple, which it my case it was. I was telling the doctor I must have IBS because all the symptoms are there. I said it could be worse than IBS, he said you just need a good burp Thomas! 🤣 he was right.
