We all have mad urges to eat what we shouldn't but I,m pleased you found the cause, the Mediterranean diet sounds good and sensible, I don't eat anything with nuts and seeds in, I even remove the seeds from tomatoes. Keep well everyone.😊😊

Its so difficult to eat when out with other people, do what I do Jacqueline and take something with you that you can eat, if I can't find a drink I can have I stick to hit water or take my own tea bags, don't suffer to be kind to others think of yourself and how your going to feel for the next few days. 😊😊😊

I tend to take people at their word, so when it is suggested ""Shall we

go for a coffee ??that's what I expect /coffee The fact that they know

I have a restricted menu suddenly leaves their brain.usually followed by ""aren't you having anything to eat?""

The toast episode was a learning curve,Just shows that The DD has a

      good memory

    Hello Jacqueline

Sorry to hear of your saga of the coffee drink offered.

There are so many things said in such a way that dont mean what they sound like.

Wasnt there a choice of drinks there?  Im sure it was not done to upset you. It was meant for a friendly "get together" and it would be so nice if were kind and understanding to each other wouldnt it !! I noticed on this site that someone said "There are a lot of rat bags in this world and I dont agree entirely as my friend who has had three strokes and myself have met some lovely caring people.

The bad people are the ones that commit crimes Cheer up Jacqueline and look on the sunny side even if we all have to go along being careful to try and avoid our diverticulitis flare ups

Hi Vera, the Rat bag was a bit of "tongue in cheek" ,as I was out with

family, who are all awash with their own aches and pains, and tend

to forget about every one elses probs  Plus Divi is not a visible illness, My aunt broke her hip 5 years ago, and is still suffering.and walks with difficulty  (highly visible ) cousin also has leg probs and again has

problems walking. So, looking at me walking good. they forget .

but neither of them whinge and moan.

    Hello again Jacqueline

Thanks for explaining the situation. I quite understand now what you meant.

I see on this site that Silicolgel is suggested.  Have you found out about it yet?

Im just going to look it up! Nice to hear from you Vera

      Hello Vera

It was me who mentioned Silicolgel Gel

My son found it on the Web.

I started taking it along as my normal medicine

It doing something for me because I've not felt so well for a long time

Its supposed to line you colon which I suppose covers the DD

this is only my own thinking

I ask my doctor about it and she was very surprised no one had thought of this before.

it is not available on the NHS but you can get it in H&B

As I said Vera this works for me it might not work for everyone.

Hello you too Vera, it's funny how the Divi Diners lot keep popping

in and out of each others lives, about various topics. This one went

"Chinese Whispers " because I needed a bit of guidance with

      Ib  uprofen.

I could spend hours in H&B reading all the labels, and convincing

myself that I ought to be taking most of the products  The Silicilgel

must be in a bottle, which I won't have noticed, as I never look at

stuff that has to be swallowed.

Happy hunting Vera ,Let us know wha t it is really for. J.

Morning Kieran, needed a coffee, hence the time !!

The gastric stuff sounds interesting, what does it actually do?

      Morning Jacq,

      You are an early riser.

On the bottle for Silicolgel it says,

      To Treat,

      Heartburn,Regurgitation,,Nausea,Flatulence,Stomach ache,Discomfort,Diarrhoea and Vomiting.

When I ask my Dr about it she said "It coats the lining of the Stomach,Bowel and possibly the Colon.

It seems to be working for me but I also take my regular medication.

I had "risen " but I was back in bed with the coffee, redy for aother one.

Your stuff seems to have most things covered.none of which apply to me, except the national pastime of everyone. begins with  Fa and ends

in ing  Don't suppose your doc said that it was available on prescription

The sun is shining, so I think I will take my D.D for a drive to Chatsworth, and show it the deer.

I didn't know that there was any medication for Divi. I have never been offered any.just told to drink  ""plenty of water "" ( with an Irish accent ).

It is not available on the NHS.

I get mine from good old H&B

The other medication I'm on is for other ailments nothing to do with DD
