Was diagnosed in 2010 with low testosterone and prescribed with Testogel patches (by UK GP) which helped with low Libido at that time.

Bigger problems started with diagnosis of Diabetes T2 in 2010 which caused moderate ED. Because of earlier heart incident in 2005, GP sent me to a NHS Urologist.

Initially tried 20mg Levitra with variable response, and then 'on demand' Cialis 20mg, which was functionally effective but response time was extremely unpredictable.

Was then prescribed with 3x20mg Cialis per week (UK GPs are advised to prescribe no more than 1 tablet per week!) Final brick in the wall was moving from Testogel patches to Nebido (Testosterone) injections - initially 12 weekly and then 10 weekly - which seems to offer better 'all-day' support for me than early morning patches.

During this time, I have tried a period without the HRT and a period without the PDE5I, but neither were successful on their own.

It has been a long journey, but things are better now than they have been for many years, and given that this is all through the NHS in the UK,I feel fortunate that this is all fully funded. My (female) Urologist has been superb and even though I could be discharged from her list, she has kept me on her annual review list, which will mean an annual letter to my GP. Up to now, senior GP in local practice has deferred to the Urologist's annual requests and has not tried to modify the ED prescriptions.

I hope my story of 'combination therapy' is helpful to someone else in the UK.

I wanted to provide a brief history of my experience with ED. I also have BPH since i was 35 (I am now 54) but seems to be lucky ones where I respond well to tamsulosin. At one point I tried a few other drugs and Retrograde happened and freaked me out. Felt like the "something about mary" movie wondering where it went. LOL.

I am a gym geek and at 48 I decided to check if my testosterone was low. It took me two years in Canada to find a doctor to look at it seriously. In that two years I also tried my first steroid cycle, injectable testosterone with something else. The results were amazing. My libido was strong, morning erections were back. I suspected something was linked to low T at that time. The hormone doctor I found put me on compound cream and all it seemed to do was increase my estrogen and water retention was crazy. 32" waste to 35" in a month. I had to convince him to put me on low dose injections. I now inject only 100 mg of Testosterone Cypionate per week. I take HCG for my testicles not to shrink as well as arimidex for estrogen. I seem to be able to balance off really well at this level and get checked every six months. My point is instead of creams and gels, I think the injections are much more effective and much lower cost. My energy is high, my muscles respond again in the gym, and my libido is off the charts sometimes.

I ahve to admit it has not made my erections amazing all the time. I added to my daily diet low dose (5-10mg) of cialis daily. The cialis makes me ready any time once stimulated as well as it has a positive effect on my prostate. I get it at a lower cost than pharmacy by obvious methods.

At a high dose, during a cycle on high testosterone, I admit my trips to the bathroom increase, leading me to believe my prostate does react to it. Once I am off for a few weeks and back to my low dose Testosterone Replacement regiment, things return to normal. One trip to the bathroom last night in 7 hours. That is amazing for me. (One day I'd love completely to sleep through the night.)

So that is my experience so far, low dose testosterone for libido, energy and in general a very youthful feeling, and daily cialis. Most days I feel 20 again. (well almost)
