In the New Forest?

Someone asked the other day about an existing member living in the New Forest - I'm sorry, I can't remember who it was who asked redface. She is no longer active in this forum (too much hassle with being logged out) but says if anyone wishes to contact her they should join the forum associated with the northeast support group on forumup.

You don't have to belong to the support group to use the forum - it's just they were responsible for setting it up. You just have to register same as here.

I live near New Forest,Chandlers Ford, currently coming to end of 3 month stay in

Johannesburg. Would love to meet up with fellow sufferers ,returning to UK in April.

had PMR for approx 18 months ,was diagnosed March2014.   Now on 8.75(pill cutter)

gp gave me enough pred for 3 months plus,so am coml g down slowly ,much slower than he would want.hoped time out here in sun and warmth would help. Sun and blue sky every day does make life seem better. So glad I could check this forum daily,no one here has heard of PMR even GP I went to......for food poisoning .

No - it isn't common amongst black nations! Does happen though and you'd think the Dutch ancestry might produce a few cases!

Yes - northern Italian sun and the usual blue skies beats wind and rain any day for me too!

Come on everybody in the NF - get yourselves into gear! Even if it is just a coffee morning meeting without invited speakers to start with!

PS - you could invite MrsO as a speaker to pass on some wisdom on support groups. She isn't a million miles away...

Yes, I echo Eileen's advice....and you all know how good her advice is!smile  We had our first Surrey meeting at an Inn in Chertsey some four years ago with a dozen people.   Ten of those are still with us, and 50 more have joined us since the start.  An annual membership allows us to hire a lovely venue in order to invite along guest speakers, mainly from the medical profession.  Of course, you can just enjoy some coffee morning get-togethers, but if you do go down this route and decide to get it on a more formal basis, then I know the National Organisation, PMRGCAuk, would welcome you with open arms and help you to get it off the ground.  And, of course, I'm happy to help in any way I can, as I'm sure another one or two other ladies will be who occasionally post on this forum and also run local support groups - they have vast experience.
