I have been taking sertraline 25mg for 13 days, I was starting to feel a but better but now started to feel a little nervous again, I am unsure if this is still a side effect if starting or if I need to up the dose.

It will be side effects. It's a bit of a roller coaster but worth sticking at according to posts on this excellent forum. When has your doctor said to up your dose as 25mg is very low 🦄🦄🦄🦄

Hi Debra, did you up gradually to 100? I found it took about 3 weeks to adjust to an increase, so if youre still anxious at 7 weeks it sounds to me like you need more. Check with your doc tho. 150 is my dose, i feel fine 90-95 % of the time. Good luck x

HI Julie . I woz on paroxatine for 17yrs and then the doctor adviced me to have a change. I woz on 50mgs for only a week or so. Then the doctor upped my dose to 100mgs which I’ve been on now for 7wks with little progress. I still feel anxious, panicky and still feel detached and deratisation . I’m so worried and scared that I’m never going to get back to my normal self.🌹any suggestions or reassurance please x

      Hi Debra

I am 8 weeks on 50 and still have anxiety as well. I am not sure if I should wait a little longer or up my dose to 75. It’s really frustrating me sad

Hi Kerry, I started on 50mg and lots of physical side effects for the first two weeks. In my third week I noticed emotional side effects - increased anxiety and some depression.

I increased my dose recently to 75 mg, little physical side effects this time but now I'm in my third week I noticed that my anxiety level increased yesterday.

These things do pass, patience is needed, you might find that the side effects start all over if you increase too quickly, probably better to ride it out for a few weeks on a lower dose as it takes several weeks to feel the effects and you might be increasing unnecessarily.

Hope you feel better soon, it's not good when it's happening but it does get better!

Hi Kerry, it could be either, everyone’s different. Im on 150 mg, been on it a year. 1st few weeks on 25 awful, i upped by 25 mg every 3 weeks or so til finally it just clicked and i realised i felt mostly well. Hang on in there, the results are worth it when you find your dose x

Thank you All, I tried to go up to 50 after a week but had a horrible time, full on body tremors and sickness for almost a day so I dropped back to 25, maybe I should have persisted but go said to keep on 25 for a bit longer.

I was on 25 mg for 7 days and then 50mg after that. I spent a full 3 days and nights in bed feeling absolutely terrible on the 50mg. But it did pass. I'm on 75mg now and feeling shattered probably cos i cant sleep but im generally getting a bit better as far as my anxiety goes. I think you need to take your meds at the same time every day, drink loads of water and eat healthy little and often.

      Good luck and keep posting.

I am unbelievably un- fit and don't even know where to start at building up my stamina. I have to sit down after the slightest exertion. I'm hoping that this passes when I get my mg correct. Baths and showers were flooring me before but im ok with them now.

      Good luck

Oh no, is that because of the medication or anxiety?

I think its the anxiety. I burnt myself out i think. Doing too much for too long and not listening to my body. Did no exercise except work ..drove everywhere.

Apparantly anxiety and fatigue go hand in hand

    Hi Kerry

I’m in 25mg although I have been on 50mg for some time. GP upped dose to 100mg and immediately my long standing tinnitus became severe. SO after one tab I now had depression, anxiety and severe tinnitus. Stopped that dose after the one but then couldn’t function. Massive shaking and anxiety and couldn’t get out of bed. Horrendous doesn’t cover it. After two months I am now able to drive and go out but I’m left with debilitating tinnitus. Spending a fortune on various remedies to try to manage it, Clinical hypnotherapy next week!

I’m still low mood, who wouldn’t have but the severe anxiety seems to have reduced along with the tremors.

I do wonder why there are so many of us with depression and anxiety, it seems to be an epidemic. I was going to be referred to a Clinical Psychologist but there is a massive waiting list. Says it all

    really. Hugs all around.
