Increase or not?

I've been on sertraline 50mg for 11 days now and no improvement so far, I know it takes a lot longer to work, but my doctor just informed me he would like me to go up to 100mg at week 3 as he said 50mg is too low and isnt the therapeutic dose and said he thinks it's not high enough to help with my anxiety/depression as well as 100mg.

just wandering if I should increase or still wait it out a lot longer to see.

just dont want to waste time on a dose that isnt strong enough to help

thanks x

therapy will be helpful and is to many people. some people recover with just therapy, some people need tablets and therapy but either way it will be pretty helpful.

it's tough but font be worried. the sooner you do it the sooner you can get back to your normal self x

I totally regret increasing. I felt mostly good on 50mg but was experiencing breathrough anxiety 1-2 days a week. I probably should have just dealt with it, or taken a Xanax if need be. Instead, we upped my dosage to 100mg at 13 weeks in and it put me in a tailspin. I've since backed back down to 50mg hoping I find my leveled out territory again. I'm scared I ruined it for myself though. 😦

sorry I've just seen you said 13 weeks. how did u feel on the higher dose? hopefully 50mg is perfect for you and it works ok

I felt horrible on the higher dose. Increased anxiety/panic, lump in my throat, ruminating thoughts, couldn't sleep through the night thinking I was going to die, racing heart, then legit had a panic attack on Day 8 -- I thought I was having a heart attack. I was a minute away from telling my husband to call an ambulance. That was when I stopped. Granted, it was basically only a week but I was too scared to continue further to see if I could get over the side effects. I didn't feel any of that when I started on 50mg. The only thing I felt when I started 50mg was slight nausea on day 1-2. That was it.

      100mg was nooooot for me.
