Increase resting pulse rate and high diastolic pressure

Posted , 8 users are following.

I had ablation surgery 2 1/2 months ago.   About two weeks ago, I started experiencing an increased resting pulse rate (from 50 to 125+) and a high diastolic pressure (+90).  Also, rather than just going in and out of AF, I appear to be in it most of the time.  This is disappointing, as I had hoped the ablation surgery would be successful in getting me out of AF.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Suzanne, I had ablation but for WPW a congenital problem. With WPW there is no guarantee ablation will eliminate the problem. Not sure about AF although both relates to irregular heartbeats.

I have AF and was advised that a heart pacer is a better option though it would not eliminate AF but managed it instead. My BP is not consistently regular or stable and I think it is suppose to be that way. I am hypertentive and am on mild medication(Tenormine 50mg).

I monitor my heart rate and BP daily I noticed to vary with time of day, my mood, if I have sufficient sleep and rest or too much inactivity. Example, on 16th May @ 7am it was 161/85 and at 1225pm it read 129/72 - 71 for pulse rate.

    At 11am on 17th June it was 98/61 - 80 pulse rate.

    This morning at 8am it read 93/63 - 80. At 12.30pm it was 103/73 - 88.

I have stopped worring about it but take actions to monitor my general health condition.

    Hope this helps.
