Inflamed Penis tip. Cancer?

Posted , 10 users are following.

I've honestly noticed this for most of my life, so it isn't anything new that popped up. But recently, it has gotten a little more swollen, and it's been stinging pretty bad. UTI and STIs were already ruled out.

I'm 29 years old.

Does anyone have any insight? I'm freaking out.

Is that a cut at the bottom part? I ve been experiencing similar cut but smaller than this and the swelling is also less, from what i know, i developed the cut after a masturbation accident. It's been a month and the cut hasn't healed and i m scared that it ll remain like this forever (or might worsen), have you tried going to GP? What did he say about it? Does it pains while you have sex? ..... I think it's not cancer...

      No it isn't a cut.

I did see my doctor, and he just ordered a urine test and STD test, both of which came back normal. Then he prescribed antibiotics, but I don't think he he really knows what it is. He seems to just be guessing.

Extremely unlikely to be linked in any way to cancer

For the swelling and the pain you are experiencing you would need to see a Urologist

    • Posted

Yes, I scheduled with a Urologist for this upcoming Tuesday... we'll see what happens.

    • Posted

Update to inform on what the Urologist says

    • Posted

He said it could be Urethritis, to take antibiotics for two weeks and if it doesn't work to come back. I don't really have many symptoms of Urethritis though, so it doesn't make much sense.

So you need to point out about the appearance of the tip of your penis - both that this has been like this for years but that you seem to have swelling that was new.

If you have seen a urologist they have the greatest expertise on these issues

    • Posted

Yeah I did ask him about it and he described it as "normal" if it has looked like that for a while. He said it's gotten a bit more inflamed, the antibiotics should help..

Thanks for the detail - so you have the option to go back - if you do, think really clearly about what change or difference you would want to bring about in your penis and ask whether that is achievable, and, how it can be worked towards

hey mate, if you check my profile you will see the other patient forum i post on for this issue. We currently do not have a clear cut solution as you can imagine most doctors dont know what this is so they blanket diagnose it.

i am 27 this year and have had this as long as i can remember maybe 9 years or so. I was never shown to retract my foreskin and clean properly under there. my meatus penis opening looks exactly like yours. includes a split stream of urine, urine urgency and burning urination.

i suggest you check the forum i mentioned and follow it so you can keep up to date.

also normal PCR screening of uti etc dont pick up most bacteria, so id suggest DNA urine testing (this more than likely will have to be done private and will cost you). im curently watiting for my results to come back.

Thanks, I've been reading it. Visually, the images look similar.

But what worries me, and I forgot to mention this in my first post, is that I'm also feeling pain INSIDE my penis through the shaft.

The only thing I can find online that resembles my symptoms is penile caner.

HI @caleb04109 did you find the correct diagnosis or a resolution for this,,,? I have the same 3 symptoms you described :- "includes a split stream of urine, urine urgency and burning urination"

If you are reading this Please respond, there are many here who can benefit from your case !!

    Hi @adi96690 @caleb04109 @ISTP

    is anybody alive here?

Any updates on this what it is?

I have the exact same thing.

    Thanks

I too am expecting a reply...... I have these - "a split stream of urine, urine urgency and burning urination" . Have tested negative for all the STDs even taken a course of antibiotics, have even taken medication for swelling and inflammation, applied fruticasone propionate and mupirocin cream on the tip but nothing seems to work. The inflamed meatus is still there along with swelling and dual stream of urine, burning, urinary urgency and slightly decreased flow due to the inflammation/swelling. Meatus gets swollen and red even more after masturbation (so i generally avoid it)

Ps:- I am experiencing all this since past 4-5 months ( I have had all kinds of tests done including blood and urine along with some imaging tests but am afraid to go for cystoscopy/Retrograde urethrogram)

I have seen my meatus get swollen and inflammed day by day but the doctors look at it and say its fine. Recently a doctor(Dermatologist + STD specialist looked at it and identified the cause as mucosal lichen plamus, I am yet to follow up with him and ask as to how did he come to this diagnosis, what is this thing and how is this thing treated) will post here if his diagnosis is correct and I get some relief

Hi @sushantnagpal Upon my 2nd visit he recommended that I continue to application of this flutibact ointment (fruticasone propionate and mupirocin cream) on the tip of the penis. He was unsure whether it is lichen plamus or not and said I can't say this with certainty. For the issue with double stream he asked me to consult a urologist in that same hospital.

Status update :- Posting here for benefit of all. Visited another urologist (5th urologist that I visited) He conducted a prostate exam and concluded that I am suffering from prostatitis He ordered a semen culture and serum PSA tests as well ( I had not undergone any of the 3 tests up until now. The semen culture showed the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa with a note saying occasional gram -ve bacilli seen. I am now taking antibiotics to get rid of this bacteria which is responsible for prostatitis and will have to do so for a long time. but I am very relieved that I finally have the correct diagnosis after having been to 5 different urologists, 1 dermatologist + std expert and 2 different homeopaths. Moral of the story

      1. Just because a doctor is not able to diagnose your problem doesn't mean you don't have it. Go to another doctor and focus first on a correct and confirmed diagnosis of the condition. Go to 10 doctors if you have to for diagnosis and tell them your entire history and ur consultations with other doctors...... I will get to know soon in about 2 weeks whether the given antibiotics are providing relief and will update here.
      2. If you have already got urine routine, urine culture, std tests through urine but nothing has come up. Go for a semen culture and sensitivity test as well as a prostate exam these are another 2 non invasive and no chance of harm causing tests (the prostate exam might be a little bit uncomfortable tho)
      3. In the future, Always use a condom penetrative sex or otherwise (oral or whatever), as from my case what i can conclude is trichomonas vaginallis entered my system due to unprotected sex and then it stayed for so long as no doc was able to diagnose and I even got a false negative on a std test that it caused a lot of harm before finally being treated with antibiotics. now trichomonas is gone but it has infected my prostate glands and also might have caused damage to the urethra (like a stricture, due to which I am experiencing poor flow and a dual stream of urine) . Anyways will have to take antibiotics to first completely get rid of prostatitis and then go for a retrograde urethrogram to understand the damage caused to the urethra.
      4. STD tests can and very often yield false -ves
      5. When ur doc says its nothing much there are very very high chances he is saying so because he doesn't understand the problem and can't diagnose/treat it. So just politely let him write whatever he is writing on the prescription, go to another doctor and tell him ur history as well as what the other docs had to say and repeat the process until you have a clear diagnosis
      6. You will feel like st all the time especially when everyone says its nothing major but ur quality of life has become st . keep your head clean and keep pursuing diagnosis and then treatment !

Could you please tell me exactly which antibiotics are you taking at the moment? I have taken all the STD tests, been to urologist and with the exact same symptoms there has been absolutely no solution for the last 3 months. Any further help and information is greatly appreciated!

Hey man ! so i ll briefly describe the regimens i have taken which were correct (i have also taken a lotta bull medications prescribed by docs who couldn't diagnose s**t)

WHEN I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TRICHOMONIASIS (common std caused by a parasite called trichomonas vaginalis)

-doxycycline 100 mg once a day 10 days

-metrogyl 400 mg twice a day for 7days

after this course waited for 5 days

then took secnil forte (one dose of two tablets taken together)

after this i noticed that actually there was a white/yellowish discharge which was depositing under the foreskin that didn't happen anymore

after this now that i am diagnosed with prostatitis a month after being diagnosed with TV i am put on levofloxacine 500 mg for 15 days

btw for prostatitis my doc advised me to ejaculate as often as possible as i had not been masturbating for the past 2-3 months that might have led to build up of the becteria in the prostate gland ... its completely stupid to abstain it ll harm you rather than help ...

thanks do ask if you need to kjow something wlse

Awesome, thank you very much for your informative answer! This is good enough to start, I will give it a try.

And how are you feeling??? I hope it is better after all!

    • Posted

yes doxy 100 mg once daily 10 days

metrogyl 400 mg twice daily 7 days

i separated the doses by about 1 hour but its not necessary to do so .... why ? is there something you want to point out in connection to this ?

    • Posted

how did you diagnose with TV? which test you took?

and did you get any relief from levofloaxcin?

      Thanks

@sushantnagpal Hey, sorry for the tardy reply...... I got diagnosed with TV when our family doctor himself looked at the urine sample (earlier I had got tests done for STDs and they all came out -ve including TV). the levofloxacine is helping (its still going on) i believe as my prostatitis is now getting better ..... but the issue with flow of urine and divided stream still persist. I still have not got a retrograde urethrogram done, I think that is the only test which can tell us about the location and length of stricture and if i do have a stricture .....

Hey man I have similar symptoms, I think it is urethral stricture of some sort, maybe it is developing currently for me. I had unprotected oral 1 year ago which started the problems. First few months I had red rashes come and go on the glans I ignored it or only used anti fungal cream, I thought it was only balanitis but it didn't go away. Then after 3 months I also noticed dribbling after urination and some kind of clear discharge which looks clear or whitish inside the urethra. (This is when, 3-4 months after exposure) I took tests and took antibiotics, tests were negative, I took azithromycin and doxycycline. No real results, maybe less redness on glans. Many more doctors and tests, cultures, and ciprofloxacin, no results. I even had retrograde urethrography and cystoscopy recently, which showed no stricture, but doctor said meatus part looks narrower but its normal (no its not..., wasn't like this at all) and they won't do anyhting.

I went to another doctor and I'm taking 2 other antibiotics currently, but no improvements, it won't fix I think.

My symptoms: my meatus is swollen and too closed (wasn't like this), especially after peeing it looks red. Dribbling after urination always for few minutes (like 1-2 drops periodically every half min), and after peeing when I press toilet paper on the meatus a little of amount of pee comes out, so I think the end of pee gets trapped inside, or comes out very slowly maybe because of stricture(?). I have also slow and spraying pee stream, but not always(?). I have whitish-grayish and swollen areas inside the meatus and start of the urethra, which could be scar tissue, but I'm not sure. Discharge which looks whitish inside(because of white areas?), but this discharge maybe is just trapped pee, I don't know. My glans also feels swollen and more dry, foreskin is a bit harder to pull back than it used to be. It is also discoloured sometimes, weird red / purple especially around the meatus.

Hi, Did you get any relief or a proper diagnosis my description matches yours word by word just 2 additional things are there, pain in perenium region ( more so while sitting ) and painful ejaculation. I underwent MRI and report said its suggestive of prostatitis and a 22 mm cyst. I have started medicine for this (more antibiotics - first I took livofloxacine for 1 month now taking niftran along with alpha blockers). I am keeping hope.... if you do find a resolution or a proper diagnosis ....... Please update !!!!! We must not forget others who are suffering from same issue .
