InsoMEia!

Hidi Hi Campers!
Most of this week has been tough regarding sleep. I just cant seem to nod off - infact I am rather awake! I lay there for ages trying my hardest to 1) get comfy (Fibromyalgia) and 2) sleep. For example last night I was still laid in bed AWAKE at 3.50am! Only to awake at 7.00am. I haven't even had an afternoon sleep. It seems as though my body refuses to rest and I really need to. Even if I sit quietly reading a book or watching TV the insomnia is still there in the evening. I had an hours kip on the sofa yesterday and woke up in agony! Tonight I am meeting some girlfriends from the stables so I am going to have a little tipple to see if that works ( Any excuse!)
Anyone else suffering with insomnia at the min?

I am geting SO fed up with all this and as previously mentioned I shall take the pills for 5 days and see how I feel. Fingers crossed I will be feeling much better. That means there is no hope for any of us
Seriously though, I really think you should carry on taking the Zopliclone each night until you see your GP for the reassessment.
I think the most important thing with your illness at the moment is that you actually sleep. With decent sleep we all know we feel so much better and quality of life is much improved. I think that is so important, even more so when you have children to consider.
Once you have established a sleeping pattern, and it's certainly going to take more than a few days, then you can perhaps try to reduce the medication gradually and see what happens.
My last GP (oh, how I miss her ) maintained that some people just need sleeping pills to help them sleep - and if they are sensible individuals (like you Donna  ) they will be aware that they could become addictive and therefore take steps to avoid this.
But for short terrm, I honestly don't feel they are doing you any harm.
Do hope you have a better night

Well I took my sleeping tablet again last night and I was out like a  .
I slept for 10 hours and today I am feeling much refreshed :D but its now mid afternoon and really feel like lying down again but I am scared incase I dont sleep again tonight!
What a vicous circle.
You know the feeling when it feels compulsary to go to bed - thats me right now! My arms, shoulders and back all ache at the moment and I feel tired.

Just a quick update re my sleeping tabs
I have taken them as suggested by my GP and last night was my first night of not taking anymore (He suggested to take for a week). I DIDNT SLEEP A WINK!
Gosh I hope I dont need to rely on these things - I am shattered today!

It makes such a difference to how you feel, the quality of sleep. 2 nights ago I had 6 hours unbroken sleep and I felt well enough to go to town yesterday and buy a sheet from the Mill shop and have coffee with my husband and didn't feel too bad. Last night it was back to the 2 hours sleep, awake for an hour, then another couple of hours and so on and I really cannot get going today.
Sleep is such a fundamental and natural thing that our body needs so WHY CAN'T WE HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the reason why I have been feeling generally better lately (apart from still waking in pain some mornings) is due to the fact that I have been sleeping like a log ever since I put my magnetic bracelet on - I don't know of any other reason except maybe purely co-incidental :?
That bracelet is staying on for the rest of my life
Donna - can you halve your Zopliclone - think they may be capsules, can't remember. But if you can, how about trying to sleep without and if still awake after an hour or so, try taking half and see what happens.

I'm sure the one I have has a 90 day money back returns policy if it does not help at all. I could still send mine back now and get a refund, but there's no way I am parting with it - even if it is all in the mind
