I just got online to check if these symptoms were related to fibromyalgia as my GP suspects I have this condition. I normally experience this on waking up. I have asked if the tremors are externally visible which I was told no but feels like I am trembling all over.

Hi DiddyC
I’ve had Fibromyalgia for years, mostly undiagnosed because ya know it’s all in my head.
No one knew why when my children or anyone hugged or touched me I felt extreme pain. It’s all in my head.
I’ve had essential tremor in my right hand that has gotten worse over the years. Sure everyone can see that I can’t hid it or mask it anymore. I don’t even try. I just learned to not order soup and when it’s real bad eat those peas with a spoon 😂 The thing that causes me such frustration and exhaustion are my internal tremors.
When I try to explain the sensation to others all I can say is.. imagine a wet dog, it visibly trembles. Now imagine that dog trembling and shivering head to toe all day, that’s me inside most days and it’s exhausting. I don’t have pain per say but as the day goes on I get weaker from my “muscle workout “. Then when I stumble to one side or the other, my day is done. Now I must be “depressed “ because “You really didn’t exert yourself a lot today but your tired?” If they only knew I ran a marathon today and never left the house. Good luck everyone. Your are NOT crazy. You can get some relief with diet, B12 shots and sun (not too much) to warm those sore muscles.

Interesting to hear so many of you have this situation. I started having weakness in my legs and internal shakiness in my body about 4 years ago. I've been to two neurologists, have had MRI's on my back and head, and blood tests. Nothing to indicate what's going on. It has gotten progressively worse where it somewhat effects the way I walk, but probably no one else sees it. My last visit to my doc said I have fibromyalgia and wanted me to try the generic for Cymbalta. It is an antidepressent, but also used in the treatment of fibro. Its only been a few weeks and I don't notice any difference but even more fatigue than I had. You might also want to check to see if you are deficient in B12, many older people are. It listed shakiness and tremors in symptoms as well, just further down the list of other symptoms. I started taking 1000 mcg a day and also shots about once a month. It helped quite a bit, but now it seems to be worse again. It not only scares me for what might happen in the future, but also limits my activity as I'm so fatigued. But I read that one of the most important things we can do is regular exercise, not strenuous or lifting weights, but walking, yoga or pilates, stretching. I'm doing just little 15 minute QiGong exercises too, which I think are beneficial. They said to exercises daily whether or not you feel like it. Also meditation. Youtube has great guided meditations for those of us who can't do it by ourselves. Going back to the doc in 2 weeks and also have an appointment to see another doctor to see if he has any different thoughts. Bless you all!

Yes! They started about 11yrs ago and I've had them off and on since then. They affect my fine motor skills as well and sometimes my walking. My head will shake as well. I finally found a Dr. that listened to all my symptoms and she tested for MS but no lesions on the brain, so has definitively said its fibro. I feel it's just getting worse. She also put me on lyrica and that has helped quite a bit with the pain and neuropathy in my hands. I've researched internal tremors with fibro for years and haven't found anything until recently. I'm glad I'm not alone but sad we all have to go thru this!

Hi DiddyC
I previously had CFS for about 12 years. For the past 3 years I have been going to neurologists for investigations into a range of nerve issues, twitching/fasciculations, painful spasms, which has been put down to a condition called neuromyotonia, or cramp fasciculation syndrome. I have also been having the same internal vibrations that you are talking about- it feels as though I can feel a train moving, like I’m standing on a platform and the ground is shaking. I feel it inside and it feels like it’s inside my abdomen. It’s a horrible feeling. It’s something that a neurologist can look into and it’s frequently experienced amongst patients with MS & Parkinson’s too from what I have read.

I have small fiber neuropathy, fibromyalgia, essential tremor disease, active HSV-6, migraines with auoras,, Blephoraspasm, and now I’m starting to have these full body tremors or internal vibrations, whatever you wanna call it. It started in my pelvic region and now it seems to be going everywhere in my body.

Thank you for creating this discussion. I've have Fibromyalgia for 4 1/2 years now, this is the first time I've felt these internal shakes in my entire body. I honestly sounded to my family like I was going nuts, it was only when I saw this discussion did I feel somewhat relieved I wasn't making this up. Although it's another thing to battle, I just appreciate there are platforms like this so you don't feel so alone when having such a dibilitating condition.
