Irritating , annoying comments about chronic pain .

Don’t you hate it when the able-bodied try to encourage you with cliches that no longer apply to chronic pain patients?
The one that irritates me most is, “If you can dream it, you can do it!”. or, "the power of positive thinking" ... Here's one of my favorites
just keep moving and be "Mindful" of your tolerances.
It makes me want to reply, “Really? I’m dreaming that you would feel my pain”.
What at are some of the irritating response you receive from those who do not suffer from chronic pain? And what do you tell them?

??Summer is the best time to take the T-tops off when the CORVETTE RALLY takes place in Denver. It will be fun. We can have all the cutie vette muscle guys push us around to check out all the different cars through the years.
I have done Corvette Rally's for many years. We could start in the Parade. I luv a Parade!!!!😄

??I have told many friends and groups I was involved with for many years about my chronic illness, only to find they reacted not at all,but went on talking about themselves as if they didn't even hear me. Some are 10 years older, usually whisper amongst themselves well wait till she's our age. She's got nothing to complain about!
Even church members I've known served on many committees & fund raisers over the years and volunteered for various community functions.
I was told well you look great , I said you can't always judge a book by it cover. 👍

Hey Gloria
twice Patient took me to the correct post!
They say that they think you are getting better because if they didn't they would have to admit that they too are fallible.
Just sit on your scooter all gussied up with four inch heels on your tootsies...
8 day count down...

Hi Carolineq8,
yes I have heard of it it's a nsaid cox 2 anti inflammatory. See the side effects and trust the judgement of ur doc. Alternate this and any other NSAID. They can cause serious internal bleeding if long term.
Some of these drugs can be trick. I just trying to titration old dilaodid. It's a awful, itchy pain med. down from 8 3 mg a day to one a day. Finally the pain from surgery has subsided and can put most of my weight on the revision done on my hip.
i also took another med for AK WORKED very well but had to have liver yeast every month. I forget what it was . My doc took me off due to height liver enzymes.
Have the results to your tests tests come in yet?
Hugs

Yes Gloria your more than welcome to add they can't see it in your X-ray.
Life is one time offer use it well. Anyone that cannot read X-ray needs to send it to a radiologist. Then take another angle then another X-ray to MRI.
??I guess you fight through the bad days to earn the best days of your life!
