Is it my gallbladder???

I'm 25 years old female and previously pretty healthy.

On Jan 16th I started feeling sick. I was vomiting and had diarrhea, and intense stomach pain. Went to the doctor and we both thought it was the stomach flu. She prescribed me nausea and anti-diarrheal medication. And said I should start to feel better in a couple day.

Fast forward to 2 1/2 weeks and I still couldn't keep anything down and still had the diarrhea, and the stomach pain(stabbing) was constant. At this point I have lost 9-10 pounds.

So this is a total of 3 weeks I have been sick. I went back to the doctor and she thought for sure with all of my symptoms it was my gallbladder. So we did bloodwork, ultrasound and a stool sample. All of that came back normal. So she thought it was either an ulcer or Crohn's.

So she thought we should try Prilosec before we go the extensive root and do an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Day 2 of Prilosec and still same results still vomiting and the diarrhea.

I went for an endoscopy on 2/14. The doctor said everything was normal except for some Gastritis, constipation and also there was no ulcer. (I forgot I have been previously tested for Crohn's and it came back negative) I told him I can't see why I'm constipated because I've had so much diarrhea. He wanted me to take Mirlax and Zyntec. He then sent me for a HIDA scan for that Friday.

I've been taking 2 20 mg of Prilosec twice a day, Zantec and Miralax. Well I still have a stabbing pain in my right upper stomach that now radiates to my back and shoulder blade.

Got my results back from the HIDA scan and the ejection fraction is 85%. I go back to my Gastrologist on Thursday. And I need answers. I

I can't live with this anymore. I can't keep any food down and I'm so tired all the time.

So could this be an overactive gallbladder?

So I went for my ERCP today. It was an Oddi Dysfunction. My bile duct was completely swollen shut so the doctor had to put a stint in that one. And one other duct. I'm staying in the hospital over night because I'm in a lot of pain and I had trouble coming out of the anesthesia this time. Think you all for your support, it means a lot to me.

Thanks for this update. You have SOD and still have your GB? Would be interested in hearing more as my de thought fvis could be causing my pancrestits episodes

Yes I still have my gb. They did every test they could and all that came back normal. I thought for sure it was my gallbladder because it was hurting in my right upper abdomen. But it turned out to be the duct being closed up. My stomach is growling again and it hasn't done that in weeks.

I'm very pleased with my doctor now. I'm currently in the hospital because I developed pancreatitis overnight. The lipase they ran today was 2100. So I'm in the hospital for a couple more days.

I have had issues with abdominal pain since I was 18. I got bitten by a tick and a couple months later I got extremely ill whenever I would eat with red meat. It's called Alpha-gal.

Before the ERCP my test even the Lipse was normal. Yes the pain is a constant stabbing pain in the right upper adbomen and it radiates to my back.

    Hello

I'm sorry to hear you have had so much negative responses and feeling so ill too and hope you get some goo results when you go back to your Gastrologist.

I only started with really bad pain , which is like a dull ache to my upper right side and in my lower back , it hurts the most when I breath in , I've not got diarrhoea, my stools are OK at the moment, it's just the bad pain and feeling bloated , the pain is right under the lower part of my right rib and it sounds like your pain is in the same place .

I am waiting for an appointment for my scan, I'm not wanting the operation, as I've head patients are still getting problems, so I'm hoping I don't need one .

Hope you have better results on Thursday ..
