Girl! I am right there with you - 9 wks Post TKR. Exact same feelings. Thank you for making me feel somewhat normal. I’m still using one crutch and trying to work. I know there are times when just sitting down is all I can think about.

Hi Alimarie, your great to be back working, so your doing great, thank you for your kind agreement with my woes, youv made me feel better too,and I'm in total agreement with you on the colleague issue,I'm getting the surprised reaction from people.....its still sore?? I find it hard to explain then what I mean, have you heard from anyone about how long it takes to feel your leg is strong again, I feel my leg weak after only a short walk? Rose

My leg is feeling stronger, but sometimes my knee just sort of feels rubbery and bends a little when I don’t mean for it to. ? I do try to think in terms of weeks rather than days (when I’m not totally discouraged). I know I’m better than last week and better than the week before that. I know I have less pain, but it’s certainly still with me most of the time. Nights are a battle, but if I can ever get settled, I generally sleep fairly well. But if I don’t, I can hardly face work.

I’m not back at work because I felt like it. It was purely financial for me. I ran right through my paid sick leave, and now my checked is docked significantly for every day I miss. I would still be at home recovering more if I could afford it.

    Hi

I with you all there . I had rtkr done 8th May, still hurts especially if I’ve over done it. Haven’t got the pain I had before (bone on bone) and I’m still on codine. Keep up with the exercises I do two round the block, with my dog ... walking machine three times a day and at weekends I do longer walks along with the one the physio gives you . Xx

My surgery was 7/18. No way I could walk around the block without a crutch at this point. Just trying to straighten up the house a bit and do a little laundry is quite difficult. I ride my recumbent exercise bike with little to no resistance 2-3 times a day, 15-25 mins each time. I do stretches and leg raises. Sometimes I do a bit more - or less - depending on how I feel. I’m still on Tramadol (codeine) and lots of Tylenol or ibuprofen.
