Is it possible to breathe with the pain of an anal fissure and reduce the intensity of a spasm ?

I have been using rectogesic for almost a week in an attempt to relieve the pain of what my GP thinks is an anal fissure .
There had been a worsening of symptoms in what is only a problem of 11 days duration
The main in my rectum prior to a bowel movement is immobilising and I am fearful of leaving the house and being caught short
Afterwards the spasm buring and pain continues for hours and nothing brings relief
I am having 3 Epsom salt baths a day and am not constipated .
I have a very high fibre plant based diet and have also added psyllium husk to my diet
I routinely have 3 movements a day so am in agony most of the time
Is there a way of using breathing to reduce pain and spasm as I am finding myself becoming increasingly tense as the time to return to the bathroom approaches
My GP has referred me for investigation and I am convinced I have anal cancer
Any advice gratefully received
10 days ago I was walking 6 miles a day going to Pilates as well as 2/ 3 spinning classes a week
Now there are times in can barely walk

Thank you for your response
Should I ditch the Epsom salts ( in the sitz bath which I'm already having after a bm ) and replace with the baking powder and coconut oil or add them both in addition to the salts ?
What sort of quantity for the power and coconut oil please ?
Is Vaseline ok as a lubricant ?
Many thanks

I have seen my GP twice in last week and they have already referred me for investigation and there is a protocol locally which days I will be seen within a fortnight so hopefully the NHS will look after me quite promptly ....fingers crossed !

If I were you I'd breathe as I schedule the LIS lol. Funny but not funny... I fought it for 12 years trust me I know the pain. The fissure is what hurts but an overly tight sphincter is the root problem. Without reducing that pressure you'll most likely never get better... at least I didn't. Had my surgery June 22 2016 and not one problem since. 12 years of problems and pain fixed in 25 minutes.

I have now been using the rectogesic for just over 3 weeks and whilst the excrutiating spasm before a bowel movement has eased the pain is still really bad at times
I have see a colorectal consultant and on 29th Dec will be having an examination under general anaesthetic with a view to botox injection and possibly banding of any internal haemerhoids
The consultant was far from sympathetic ☹
Biggest issue for me is far too many bowel movements

I want to take this time to thank the forum and the members for the helpful info I have recieved. This has helped me cope while enduring this terrible experience. I have thought no one understands but God who knows how I am suffering. But you do because you have the same suffering. I am unable to work full-time the first time in 30 years. I love to walk ,can't do that. Love to read this is very reduced due to pain can't concentrate read the same line over and over.Sometimes csn't even pray can just dilently adk God for help. I now understand why people with chronic pain become suicidal. (Smile), I don't have a plan. Music with your sitz bath at night , a candle and a glass of whine can help reduce anxiety on a baf day when you have already had two sitz baths and hope this one brings relief. I hope we all get better. Thus is my 1 year anniversary with Chronic anal fissure. I don't feel like celebrating. Thank you all again.
