Is sertraline for me?

Posted , 12 users are following.

I switched from citalopram to sertraline nearly 5 and a half weeks ago. 50mg of sertraline.

I cant stop shaking all day and evening. my back and leg muscles really ache. like I have flu.

my negative thoughts are constant

my mood has dropped so low and my anxiety is sky high. very panicky.

I just seem to be getting worse and really dont know what to do.

everyone says keep carrying on but I cant get across how crap I feel right now.

the past few days seem to just be getting harder and harder.

any advise or experience would be greatly appreciated.

don't feel like I can carry on much longer if I don't improve soon x

feeling defeated and scared right now

When you do a straight swap you are definitely gonna get some residual anx/ dep from withdrawals, whatever doc says. And you need enough of your current new mes to kick in and balance that out.

I pooped out on Citalopram back in May. GP was a bit useless so I paid to see a psych. He switched me to 75mg Venlafaxine, which is just beginning to kick in after 3 weeks. Up until now has been awful.....agitation, depression, even a bit of SI, very disrupted sleep. However, the Ven is slowly nudging those feelings out.

I'd guess you need more of the Sertraline. And if that doesnt work, try an SNRI. Theres loads of options left, buddy.

Just wondering how you are doing Potato, haven't been keeping up much on here. Are things starting to improve? Have you increased yet? I do wish you the best and hope that you hit that right dose and get back to normal and feeling good soon!

    Best Wishes!
