Most conditions you describe are either Dermatological or are some form of Balanitis.

You can often help yourself greatly by implementing good Penile Hygiene : -

    >>> prevent as far as possible, soap, or shower gel, hair shampoo etc., or skin cream / lotion or any form of lube (oil based particularly) from getting on your penis.  Always wash with water ONLY (never hot water) after urinating (in public toilets go in a cubicle and use toilet paper to ensure the head and surrounding area is 100% dry) when showering – if possible, make sure the skin of the penis is drawn forward to cover the head to protect the area from soap / shower gel, etc. getting on it.  At the end of the shower - make sure the entire penis is 100% dry afterwards

And, your penis could be reacting to an irritant, usually some form of chemical - from anything from a specific soap, washing powder you use on your clothes, (and so on) or something related to your sexual practices: lube, lotions, gels and suchlike <<<<

Try the above for a while - if no better after 5 to 6 weeks either update this thread (Your Discussion) or start a new discussion ......

    Good advice by Wee Dugie

Detergents/soaps wash away the natural oils needed to keep sensitive skin healthy.

    Only wash with plain water.

I did all what you said me and I put a little of Canesten V (Clotrimazol 2%) and I think it's look better now, what do you think?image

It is unlikely that you have ever had a yeast infection as these normally only occur if you have had unprotected sexual intercourse with a woman with a yeast infection. The Canesten only usually deals with yeast problems such as Athletes Foot - while it is possible to have to have this if you have never had sex, it is ONLY if you restrict your penis by wearing tight fitting garments such as a penis pouch AND you sweat a great deal in the groin region AND do not wash or shower regularly.

It is circumstances such as this that can potentially lead candida bacteria to multiply. Candida bacteria are naturally present on the body but only become a problem if they multiply out of control. If you use the Penile Hygiene regime I specify above and you control sweat in the groin region such as taking regular showers this should not be a problem. Obviously, if you are an active person, do regular exercise, or an active sports person, particular if you wear something like Lycra cycle shorts - then sweat can become an issue - showering regularly takes care of these issues.

You should not use medications if you have not been directed by a Medical Professional to do so, or been not been told how to use it correctly for a particular problem.

I think I have a yeast infection, because I use to sweat very much in mt groin region because I live in a really warm place, but I take showers every day, do I have to take shower more often?

Thank you for your explanaition and for take your time to guide me

      Candida bacteria produces smegma?

    • Posted

If you do an Internet Search on Smegma you will likely find information like this:

      • " Smegma is a whitish substance that may be present on the genitalia. It is caused by the shedding of (dead) skin cells and it is harmless, although it may become problematic if it is allowed to build up "

So no, smegma is NOT caused by Candida, the majority of uncircumcised Males who have not got their Penile Hygiene right produce smegma.

Candida is a naturally occuring fungal yeast that is present on the human body, it is ONLY when it multiplies out of control that it causes a problem. In detail:

" Genital Yeast Infection (Genital Candidiasis)

Three out of four adult women will get at least one yeast infection during their lifetime. This occurs when too much yeast grows in the vagina. (Men also can get a genital yeast infection, but it's much less common). " ....... AND

" A man with a yeast infection may have an itchy rash on his penis. "

So where are we with where you are now, miguel34348? If you have followed the Penile Hygiene regime I have suggested your penis should be clean - but cleaning is the first part, you need to fully dry the exposed head of your penis when you first get out of the shower - make sure you are 100% dry. Then dry your entire groin region to ensure NO MOISTURE remains to encourage the build-up of sweat.

There are two essential issues with controlling the build-up of sweat: the factors that encourage sweat to form in the first place and what you do to control it.

For i.) are you considerably overweight, or are you a very active person, a sports person, or do something like very regular Gym workouts? Imagine, if you were a competitive road cyclist and your wore Lycra shorts often, this would cause sweat to gather in your groin on a very regular basis. If you live in a hot, humid (damp) climate this will not make things easier for you anyway. AND ...

ii.) what measures can you take to control it? Loose fitting, rather that tight fitting clothing, particularly for your groin region is very important. If you are really active, ask others who do the same activity how they deal with sweat issues. Lots of Men proudly shave off all of their hair in their pubic area - and this will certainly help you to control the build up of sweat. Also, is there any possibility you could take a shower during the day. Depending on your personal circumstances many Men do an activity during the day - swimming, Gym workout and so on during the day - then take a shower afterwards. This will allow you to change out of your initial clothing you have put on in the morning and the shower will help control the sweat at the same time. Then put on fresh underwear before getting dressed again.

It is by doing a number of things like this that you will be able to take more control over the sweat you experience in the groin region ....

thanks a lot for your tips, I'll keep doing it, and I have to ask it again, do you think its look better in the second photo??

In terms of the photos and the difference between them it is difficult to tell. So marginally, slightly - not sure!

Does anyone know what this can be? My doc said rug burn from too much masterbation but its been here for two years i can barely get through my day without stressing about it and my sex life is dead

    • Posted

Jay, it certainly cannot be normal if it has been there for around 2 years. The only way you will ever know for sure what it is you have is to go and see a Urologist. You can get a referral from your Regular / Family Doctor / GP, or the easiest way is to go to a GUM Clinic at a General Hospital if you are in the UK - or go to any Walk-In Sexual Health Center and ask to see a duty Urologist ....

Once you have seen a Urologist it would be interesting to know what was said - please start your own Forum Thread on this web site and include a photo or 2 as the problem looks now for you ...

My concern is that if you have had something that has been present for 2 years with no signs of it going away - this is clearly having a big psychological impact on you!

You owe it to yourself to get the opinion of a second specialist at least - please go to your regular Doctor at least, and better still, go to a Sexual Health Clinic and ask to speak to a duty Urologist .....

I keep trying to send u a pic to get your opinion but it keeps saying file size to big lol super annoying
