Is this Balanitis? I'm 21, had it most of my whole life, no treatment has worked

Hello, I've seen a doctor many times about a mild condition I have on my penis glans, have been prescribed 3 different creams including Betnovate and a Hydrocortisone, a course of antibiotics and a swab which said I was clear and still the condition remains. I used to have a tight foreskin up until last year which is now sorted from stretching, and I think the condition began during my teenage years when I wasn't able to wash the glans. It often feels dry and can sometmes feel slightly painful when the foreskin retracts, almost like its rubbing and the sensitivity everywhere is quite high still, not sure if this is due to the condition. The urethra opening is always red and inflamed and red areas appear frequently around the glans itself. Any advise on what I should do would be much appreciated, have attached a photo too. Many thanks!

Hey guys, I have something similar to this, it looks like chafed skin but it bleeds and it doesn't hurt, I have much less sexual desire now than before I saw the spot. I have less sperm production and I have never had sex. I also have a red spot on the outside of foreskin probably irrelevant since it is probably just a sprung vein. Any insight from you guys? Please help, I am just a teen who lives with his parents and I don't want to tell them I need to go to a doctor because something is wrong with my penis...(embarrassing). Again please help.
Jeff

Hi Jeff. I know its embarrassing to tell your parents or you might be afraid to go the doctor about this issue but its very important to do it. Your parents have to go to the doctor for there genital areas too. It's just a way of life. It is important to see a doctor to get an opinion from them and that it's not an underlying incident. Don't be afraid we are all human after all 😊

that's right, doctors see this stuff day in day out no need to be embarrassed, go get it checked out Jeff and then you never need worry about it again

alrighty here is my story. about 3 months ago what seemed like it came from sexual contact(about 2 weeks after) i started having pain in scrotum/balls and a red tip of my penis. went to walk in clinic was given doxycycline 7 day. went to get sti test after 7 days came back negative. but i assume a false negative could be possibility due to doxycycline. about 2 weeks later no relief i went to a primary care physician. was givin 14day cypro and on about day 12 testical pain stopped but red penis head (mostly the very tip/hole) continues to effect me. i have been using coconut oil right b4 i get in the shower then wash it off with sensitive soap it helps. i have tried 3 fungal ointments with no luck and like others made worse. usually inflames the most after ejaculation. so went to a urologist 4 days ago. was givin oral fungle medicine and a steroid ointment. well guess what ointment helps but not cures but ill try 3 days more. b4 i go back for a follow up visit this week. it can range from just the meatus being red swollen to my whole head and foreskin red. shiney or wrikly. other times it can look pretty good but others not so much moisture definitely seems to make it worse. i doubtfull on the i hurt my penis theory. im 26 and have lived through age 14 where a jackedoff so much in a day it hurt. lol. i dont seem to see any1 being offered a bacterial ointment though a physician and it kinda seemed like the next step for me. im going back to the urologist this week and am going to stress having some kind of tests. or maybe even going to get a full std screening. im just over it at this point. my urologist did mention circumcision on the first visit but.....no way in hell!! my things has always been fine

hey with this condition I find having a circumcision only helps because it prevents excess moisture, otherwise as you say don't go through with it
I had one and thats the only benefit

unfortunately nothing really to follow up on. still have symtoms urologist doesnt really have answers. pretty much told.me sometimes this happens and the doctor keeps giving treatments and the patient has no cure and together there is alot of frustration. ive now tried 2 antibiotics. 2 otc fungal. a steroid creme and this terrasil balantis treatment. the steroid cream and it seem to help but no cure. think at this point im gonna just use cocunut oil for relief. maybe really cut out soda amd drink more water. loosing hope a little. should get a sti results back next week but im not confident they will fimd anything. uggggghhhhh wtf can i do

hey, looks like I'm coming in on this a little late but so glad I've found this thread because I have been concerned about the same issue now as well for about 6 months. tip of urethra is red but bright red after ejaculation. no other pain or symptoms other then that. has anyone definitely had yeast infection ruled out?
I'm pretty sure it's not a STI as have been tested a few times.
seriously finding this forum has really put me at ease so thanks for sharing guys

Martin I don't think anything can be ruled out as no one knows what the problem is. It could definitely be a yeast infection. One thing a dermatologist said to me was that it could be one of the protection layers of the skin has worn down and that yeast that is usually there is affecting the area as the barrier is worn down but he ran no tests this was just him saying what it could be.
