That to me sounds exactly as PID. I had the same symptoms 1 year and a half ago, and still battling them. I've had laparo and appendectomy and several courses of antibiotics. They didn't find any nasty STD in my cervix or uterus and everything was clear inside. But I did have this problem where I had this chemical smell and discharge for years before but the clinic I was seeing returned negative results on my swabs. This was until I changed the lab and I got my first Gardnerella PCR test. Gardnerella is the name of the bacteria that causes BV. And surprise! I had BV with Gardnerella. They put me on Metro tablets and gel and I started feeling better. It came back so now I want to go back and test again and try clyndamicin. There are actually strains of Gardnerella resistant to metronidazole. If you have PID always get at least 14 days of treatment, including with metro. And always get your partner/husband treated with the same antibiotics. I hope this helps give you some clarity. Oh, and never ever douche! There is no reason in the world to clean the vagina from inside.

Out of curiosity, is your rash like these small blisters that burst and have a clear liquid inside? I had this for months years ago and I can't stop thinking there was a connection. Mine were on my arms.
