Is this duloxetine withdrawal?

I could really use some advice.
I had been on 60mg of duloxetine for about 4 years. Back in April I decided I would like to slowly reduce. I spoke to my GP who supported my decision to slowly reduce and we agreed that I would manage it myself. A friend had struggled with duloxetine withdrawal but I assumed it was because his depression had returned - I didn't reckon on the hell that is duloxetine withdrawal.
I gradually reduced to 30mg daily. In July I was struggling with brain zaps, extreme fatigue, brain fog and difficulty processing thoughts and information. Oh, and RAGE!! This was gradually getting worse and I decided to ring the GP who advised increasing my dose back to 60mg. I asked if she'd heard of patients having problems withdrawing from duloxetine - she hadn't.
That was over a month ago - after an initial improvement it is now as bad as ever. I have an appointment with GP in a few days but not sure they will even acknowledge that my symptoms are due to duloxetine withdrawal.
Any advice/similar experiences would be appreciated.

Magnolia here I decreased my cymbalta by 10mg each fortnight from 60mg down to 20 mg this of course is the least dose they do which is totally wrong but they don't want us all off them as they would loose millions of pounds when I am ready I will start to reduce by a few balls out of each tablet at a time it is gonna take me ages but as long as I get off them eventually I don't care how long it takes , it's the only way I'm gonna get rid of this awful weight I have put on that is making me totally miserable good luck to you xx x

Well done Magnolia, I'm reducing much slowly, 2mg per month, buy counting the tiny beads,,,, I reckon it's going to take 18 months to 2 years to get off this horrible drug.....But like you, don't care how long it takes.... Did you have any side effects reducing so quickly?

Hi Jan
.Got side effects dropping from 30mg to 20 mg that's why I'm leaving it a while before I start reducing again . I starting feeling panicky and crying a lot but it's subsided now , how many beads did you take out at first ,I'm going to do this next stage real slow . I never carried weight till I went on these god damp tablets it's awful but if I hadn't gone on them I wouldn't be here now xx

Exactly hon, I know what you mean.... I was on 50mg twice a day... So I counted the beads in a 20mg capsule.... As different brands have different amounts..... There were approx 180 beads so I decided to remove 20 beads from both morning and evening doses therefore reducing each capsule by 2mg = 4mg a day........ I haven't had any side effects at all until I reduced by 30 beads twice a day this month and I went of the rails, so I've increased back up again and I'm only going to reduce by 20 beads each dose...... Hope you understand xx

Hi Carrie,
I was also taking Duloxetine for 3 months this year and decided that I wanted to get off of it. I was started on 30mg. By the end of the third month I tried taking 30 milligrams every other day and felt horrible. This went on for three weeks. Because nothing was getting better I just decided to completely stop taking the medication I have now been off of Duloxetine for one week and have spent the majority of this week laying down because everytime I get up I have horrible brain zaps, I feel nauseous, im throwing up and I can't focus or concentrate. I've read that it takes about two weeks to completely get out of your system so 7 Days down 7 more days to go I would never put one of those pills back in my mouth again just to make the side effects go away I want to be done and rid this medication for life.

I'm just the same Farah, I've made some health treats using ripe bananas, coconut, coconut oil and oats mixed together and baked in the oven for 25 mins.... They are really sweet but healthy and are helping when the sugar monster raises its head x

Thank you for the suggestion. I found Cymbalta hurts worse through Facebook but haven't been able to find any information on exactly how to taper. Is there any way you could copy and paste a link for me thank you.

Hi Jan, YEARS??? UHG!!! I was thinking about removing some of the medicine inside the capules but I am terrified. I ended up in the ER each time I've tried to get off the Cymbalta. The pain is excruciating and you said years... good grief! I might be on this crap forever... sigh.
