Hi everyone. Ive been on prozac 20mg for four weeks now. I still get diarrhea in the mornings and sometimes throughout the day. Is this normal?. I still get anxiety I'm thinking that causes the diarrhea aswell. Sometimes the anxiety is over the roof. Im about to get my period so I think it makes it worse.

Hi  hon, I was on Prozac for 25 years. It stopped working for me because of a drug interaction. I then spent 4 years on cipralex which, then 2 months on Zoloft. I went to Brazil last year a week before Christmas to visit my daughter. When I landed I had to take my malaria medication which interacted with the Zoloft and had to fly home immediately. I spent the next 4 months in hospital with a s****y doctor who did not help me at all. My husband took me out and we got another doctor who put me back on Prozac as it would be new to my system again. It too k me 8 weeks when I started to see a difference. It was pure hell going through my body adjusting to it but I came on here, met a lot of great people who helped me through. Every single day! I come back here to check on and help anyone who is going through this. It does get better. Unfortunately it appears to be the slowest med to settle. But when it does ahhhh.

I know it's damn hard but hold on, be kind to yourself. You will get through this. One day at a time.  You are not alone and you don't have to be. We understand and empathize with all you are struggling with. If I can make it so can you.

    Big hugs. ????

Thank you Laurie.  I am really struggling. I switched from Zoloft after 5 weeks to Prozac.   I’ve been on it 1 week.  The Dr told me I wouldn’t be starting over, so I thought the side effects would be better, I was good for about 4 days, now the side effects are coming, the anxiety, depression, etc is awful.
