Its finally going! - signs of healing

I'm so relieved - I can happily say that my PR is finally clearing up. I've had it for about 8 weeks now. About a week before it started to fade I think it 'peaked' it was intensely itchy and very dry and flaky. A week later the itch had all but gone (except when after a shower) The patches enlarged and flattened and started to fade from the inside of the patch outwards. During this time my skin was very flaky. Within a week the rash had faded down to a tan colour and once the flaking had gone the tan patches were dry looking but flat. The early patches and herald patch have almost completely faded and the patches I got later on are still there but beginning to go.
Its been a horrid 8 weeks but I'm glad that it seems to be going - I'm just praying that its gone for good and will stay away for my wedding next year.
For those of you in the middle of it and feeling miserable - IT WILL GO AWAY! I really felt that i would have it forever but I'm almost normal again now and I'm so relieved! There is hope - hang in there eveyone!

Hi there, I'm 54 and have been dealing with an itchy spreading rash for the past 6 weeks. After being mis-diagnosed with a staph infection and becoming so dehydrated from the antibiotics, I ended up in hospital on a drip !
Only then did I get blood tests that showed no sign of infection......I finally saw my GP about 10 days ago and she thought I had Cuttate Psoriasis but I think this is PR. Before any rash appeared I had a herald patch on my back. I have not had a strep throat which often preceeds that type of psoriasis. My rash appeared after a localized skin infection-two very minor places.
I have an appointment to see a dermatologist on 31st August so I hope she can give me a proper diagnosis.
My question is this- has anybody had PR and experienced bruising as part of the rash ?
I have had random bruises appear on my legs, Rash appeared to (finally) stop spreading at week 5 and is now showing signs of beginning to fade in places but I am smothered !
Aveeno lotion and Aloe Vera and sunlight all help.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated !

My PR is pretty much healed now!! first i got the herald patch on my neck at the end of feb 2022 and then the rash started to break out a couple weeks later. It was horrible one if the worst things ever. Went to my doctor and got a steroid prescribed and a antihistamine. after finishing the steroid it def started to get better. I noticed that itching made it worse and hot showers. now about 8 weeks later i can finally say its 98% gone.It will get better jt just takes time!!!

I had never heard of this condition until I got it. About 6 weeks ago now. Took 4 doctors to diagnose but from what I can see on the internet, I am pretty confident this is right. Started with a very small patch on my shoulder, then my husband told me I had a rash across my back. Then it moved to my bra lines, my underwear lines, but then spreading down my stomach, my legs and my arms to the back of my hands, up my chest to my neck and throat. In the last week it became itchy and is driving me mad!
It's now just starting to peel in places. I am hoping this means it is reaching its worst and will start to ease soonest. Ive tried anti-histamine tablets, E45 emollient for washing and moisturising, and now Eurax and Piriton for the itching plus a calamine type lotion. No idea if this will help or if I am about to hit the period it usually starts to heal by itself in any case. As long as it starts getting better soon I guess I don't care! i have been reassured by the many tales on this post of people feeling awful but ultimately getting better but so hoping I'm in the 6-9 weeks group not the 14 months group. Ugh!
This is awful. But I know there are many worse things I could get... and of course may still get at some point. I'm just amazed PR is so little known though!

i am very happy to come across this site! i had this for about 3 months! its a very horrible situation to go through and its beyond scary! All i can think of is it never comes back and leaves no scars! lol i punctured my own skin so i will have some scars! the itching that you can get too is terrible. Glad to come across this site to know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. i want to cry but thats not gonna make it go away. Derm gave me prescriptions but i wont take it. i dont like anything that makes me sleepy and the cream is not good it only gave me more anxiety. so dove soap and lotions that helps with the itchy is ok but i have to take showers often. i kind of feel like its trying to quiet down just alittle. like most i am worried that the scars go away completely. i never had and marks on my body especially on my back. my back is jacked up. i never want to think about this again once it goes away. very happy i didnt get this during the summer because id really be miserable. Thanks for the happy news and i cant wait until it goes away. im about to jump in the shower and take care of this itchy skin! Good nite!
